Congrats B&B, KJ and VS. Getting it done!
I haven’t been out yet. Dealing with a bad back for a while. It’s gotten better, but now work and other crap gets in the way.
Might not get out till around Halloween. Living through you guys, good luck!

Interesting morning. Wind from the SW left me few decent spots. Decided to try a small 15 ac parcel, the farmer on side said last year he was seeing all kinds of deer in his pasture.

40 degrees when I left this morning.

Farmer on the other side must’ve just cut his field, and there were deer all that field. And most ran in front of my vehicle, opposite where I was going to hunt, into private.

Wandered in and by my headlamp found what seemed to be a good spot…setting my sticks and looked to my right…and see somebody else’s stand…figured he knew something or I was equally foolish.[IMG]

Did see one big bodied buck and a glint of headgear, but he veered off about 50yds away in thick stuff…

Wandered to the back edge after I pulled my stand ~11am… temps were already about 70… Found a blind about a couple hundred yards deeper…I suspect both set for next weeks ML open.

No shots, but interesting little parcel.

All setup in a spot I haven’t been to yet this year. Wind is S/SW so it’s a perfect opportunity to hunt this hard edge in a transitional area. Plenty of fresh droppings . Good luck PM Shift! Should be a good one!!

Set up over some freshly picked corn. Didn’t realize farmer was starting but happy to see it when I walked up. Hopefully this draws them out here

I’m back up and scouted my way in to a complete new area after lunch. I found what I been looking for, the sign has me all pumped up but I’m an eternal optimist. I’ll keep you all posted. Fresh scrapes and rubs on trees I could almost climb.

I agree. I’m sitting here watching the corn being cut in front of me. He will be done with this field and on to others shortly so hoping they come swarming out to a fresh warm cut corn field before dark
