I’m back up, new spot. It’s a island of oaks about 70yds wide I’m in the center and can shoot the whole way around to field edges. Corn to my north, CRP to my left, native grass to my east and south is a dried creek bed that leads to bean fields and hardwoods. Seems like the perfect spot to catch em going and coming each area.

Starting to wonder if that lead doe wasn't the one I bumped coming in amd there was actually two of them but only seen the one.

Just weird she rected to a meh that way, unless they're just on edge a bit from the winds. Could be waiting on my earn a buck doe if she'd had just stopped and given me 2 seconds. Then again, had I not botched this morning would have been my earn a buck doe.

Congrats LC. Those thermal imagers are slick. Still hurts to think about running mine over in the driveway…I still can’t bring myself to buy another one.

Good luck to everyone who is out or going out this afternoon.

I'll be joining you around 3:30 or 4:00. I'm going to sit a new spot this afternoon. It's actually only about 400 yards from where I parked the travel trailer. It's a good spot that I've had luck at before and it has a small pond there also.

I don't plan on shooting a doe this evening.

Crap. I just now remembered that I left my bow sling hanging on a branch where the bike was parked this morning. Oh well, it'll still be there tomorrow afternoon when I go back.

20221014_144057.jpg So give me your advise all you cut corn hunters...this is silage. They started on our line and are working up hill 3 big fields. I did not hear them cutting the field kiddy corner from where I was this morning behind sanctuary. That will be in a day maybe two. Turkey starts tomorrow so I'll be in the chicken coop blind, tonight in a half hour I'll be in this morning's stand. I think the noise and lack of being able to cross the street to corn field will have them on me or staying put in sanctuary. I still have the beans and some pods in weed plot and the chestnuts are dropping like mad right now. They are pretty good size this year and 3 to a husk....
    What do you think ?
Just got a chance to eat "lunch" so leaving at 3:30 close is at 7

1 hr nap at a boat launch the day before duck season. Mfer and S word was used 55times by the day before season boat and trailer testers. I need to wash my own brain out with soap. Clouds moving in and 15mph winds. I think I can get within 40 yds of that bed. Headed in to see if anyone is home.

Dang he's flying almost done with this field started at 2:00...done ..they may have all 3done today!

Oh New cam came today so I set it grabbed mounting hardware saddle and a stick. Set it up 10 or so ft and angled it toward the field. I have a scrape under a beech branch that got a scent, between blind and field about 30yards from the blind....figured good time to set things there.

Welp. Not a happy ending to this story. Got setup in a sweet spot last night. Wind was great. Slipped in quiet. Had 2 doe come in and thought I drilled one at 20 yards. Thought I heard her crash. Not much blood last night and called off the track after a couple of hours to wait for daylight. Went back in and tracked her for over 300 yards of blood. Trail went dry and I started to grid search with nothing after the last drop. Maybe next time. 20221013_162233.jpeg 20221013_162246.jpeg 20221013_185440.jpeg 20221013_185443.jpeg 20221014_101436.jpeg 20221014_102445.jpeg
