Glad he made it...man I set my big hang on and set up my 20' stick ladder. That thing was so tough to set I had to get one of my fiberglass / aluminium ladder to get it strapped up. Also to set stand. Well that stick ladder has alternate steps with little 1/2" foot stops for slips...I kept looking at those as I went up and down my ladder envisioning just what happened to him....ladder was tied off and left as what I'll use. PS....I set a screw in step too.....to hang my bow from in the tree in front of me.
Sorry for the horrible pictures and delay. I didn't always have service. I shot her broadside at 19 yards. With the lighted knock I could see it was a little lower than I was aiming. The fawn just stuck around for a while. I threw a water bottle at him...and he smelled it! Finally he left. I was in a hurry because it was raining and I needed to get her to the processor by 8. I used a good spotlight and tracked her through the standing corn. The blood wasn't washed off the stalks yet. Had to drag her 90 yards to the edge of the corn. Chester, the processor, is an awesome dude. Good clean work. She weighed 100 pounds. Happy to make a quick clean kill. Thank you for the kind words. I wish I had had better reception and more time to post while on her trail. The blood was pumping out both sides down the corn row. This is the exit - using G5 Mega Meat broadheads.
All set up with about 30 minutes till light, I’ve strictly saddlehunted the past year, gotta admit it was really nice just walking to a pre hung lock on stand and climbing up!!! But also feel really exposed in it compared to the saddle… pros and cons! Had a big bodied deer in here yesterday at 7:15, hopefully he does that again goodluck to everyone else!
lets go ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats! I've been curious about the mega meats, is this the first deer with the G5MM? looks like an impressive hole!
After a week of stalking pronghorn and muleys in Wyoming with a rifle, it feels great to have a bow in my hands again. MN bipolar weather at its finest, 82° and windy yesterday, 55° and windy today with overnight showers/storms... let's go! Hopefully the deer studied the script and are in route to my little pinch point between picked bean fields. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
I shot 2 does with them last year and 1 with the Grim Reaper 3-blade 2 inch. I talked to the owner of Kruizenga Archery. He pulls 60 pounds and uses the Mega Meats and blows through deer. I like the big opening. Every broadhead works well when the shot is good...both of these make big wound channels, so I think a better blood trail and might help on the marginal shots. My brother shoots a lot of deer using the Grim Reaper 3-blade 2 inch with his crossbow and he loves them also.
