I'm up in my climber, same spot as last night.
Phone died right before last light, coyote came in as I was lowering bow but that and 1 black squirrel was it.

Chitshow continues, ebike would not power on this AM so I came out Amish style. Pedaling got me a little sweated up but breeze is light so I'll be OK. Good luck AM crew

At least I know this place has deer bc plan A, B, and C all involved blowing deer on bedding pts. They were already there 1.5 hrs before sun up. Holy crap. I adjusted to plan D(D for dumb) and set up on a ravine by bedding with oaks dropping. Hoping something comes in eating those before bedding. One can dream after sounding like a human cannon.

Not exactly sure what just happened. Had a decent size doe come in with a yearling in tow. She was right about at the lane so i drew. When i did my string rubbed on my bino harness and alerted her. She calmed back down and i was at full draw. I had a small hole where she stepped at 20 yds. I think my string mustve undone my bino harness flap and it made contact when i shot cause i heard that make contact again. The shot sounded money that classic Thwack but she ran off flicking her tail about 75 yds away and just stood there. I thought i saw an exit hole that would have been 100% dead deer. But she kept standing there and finally started licking her back. Maybe i shot way high??? Idk shot sounded so good and it was a chip shot but like i said my string may have hit my bino harness ugh……. Guess ill let things calm down then go look for my arrow. Maybe an hour

Guess the spine makes a thwack too but it was loud. Dirt behind her so i didnt hit a tree. If it was that loud it had to have hit something hard. she sure didnt act like a spine shot deer.

If anything i would have shot low. After ranging it was 26 yds. I guessed her at a tad over 20 so i just used my 20 pin. Oh well another arrow knocked and hopefully shes dead

Don't beat yourself up guessing. It sounds like a low hit and I've been there more times than I'm happy about. Lol. Treat it like a good hit. Give it time. Keep hunting until you feel comfy getting down to track.
