Well, my hunting was over when I got down this morning, but it’s been a great day.

After I got yesterdays doe skinned, quartered and on ice Josh, my grandson Zach and I shot bows for a while. Here’s the little guy that found my doe yesterday shooting.

After that we grabbed some fishing poles and caught quite a few smallish channel cat out of the lake here. We filleted them and now we’re going to get them cooked.

After that we’re going to head downstairs to the pool table and have some more fun. Zach is a pretty good pool player. :tu:

    Good times folks. Good times.

The doe worked off soon after she came out to get a little snack. Nothing else yet. Just hit the golden hour and the field is 95% in the shadows.

Caught the head of a bedded doe 45yds away. Watched her for a good 30 minutes. She caught me moving somehow. Oak tree between us with good cover. Didn’t blow just stood up and bounded away.

Being smart about where I hunt is starting to piss me off. Part of me just wants to get in there. Daylight pictures of bucks on that end 2 days in a row.

I jumped up a stand for the last 2 hours once I got home from work but didn’t see anything

My son in law shot his first archery buck on his second sit of his life….

No deer came by this evening. Did have 3 bear come through and had a nice buck come through this spot this morning. Back out after them on Monday. 20221008_180251.jpeg 20221008_180252.jpeg Screenshot_20221008-163318_Gallery.jpeg Screenshot_20221008-163340_Gallery.jpeg

I normally find something good in unproductive mind numbing hunt...hhhmmm...a tree didn't fall on me....that's all I got.

One is an Alpha with an upgraded seat, the second is an Alpha 2, sticks are the brown square tubes, not sure if they ever went cast on those or not.

Actually think I can stack these things to make a single package to ship. Going to try it tomorrow and take to UPS to get a quote.

More than likely, hate to admit it but physically this get up is not for me on a set up tear down each hunt basis. I don't know where I went wrong or if it is just a factor of age, but trying to do this twice a sit just isn't in my capabilities anymore

Since you're online, where's Carter been? He hasn't been on since late September but is usually pretty active this time of year. Was thinking about that on the sit tonight, hope all is well.

Ah. Yeah I get that. If I hadn't spent money on hunting this year like democrats funding the war in Ukraine, I'd take one of em.
