Disappointing

I needed blood trail entertainment before my son’s game begins.

3 doe. 1 dawn. 1 button buck. 8 pointer. Turkey.

I’ve had 2 hunts on 2 different properties this season that have been an absolute blast! I’m worn out.

 

On my way out I saw a flash of white through the woods and hurt sticks breaking and all kind of commotion I thought it was a deer but then I saw blue. It was a lady running through the woods. I yelled out Hunter here, are you OK ma’am? She said yes I’m fine and kept running. Pretty odd, not the oddest thing I’ve seen in the woods though. A few minutes later I see more white coming down the cart road towards me. I stop what I’m doing and ask the guy, hey what is going on what are you guys doing? You do know that it is the middle of hunting season right? And there are people out in the woods right now with weapons hunting and you’re wearing white with not a trace of blaze orange. The guy looked at me and shock and said really they didn’t tell us that. He said they were doing some type of land navigation race. I asked him where they were based out of or where they started. Get back to my jeep made a phone call to the game warden who has helped me out in the past. He could not believe it. He said he was throwing his lights and sirens on and getting there as fast as he could.
Good luck to anyone else who is still out! I will follow along while heavily intoxicated this afternoon/evening!

Well the chit show continued , did not see anything, I was rain on, not terrible but a little wet. As I was packing up I heard something , turned and looked and a fawn is running away. I said oh geez out loud and the 2 nd fawn runs the same way. I usually get down at 1100 today I decided to climb down at 1045. I need to reset today. I'm sure if I would have waited I would have seen momma. I'm an idiot.

Was up too late last night and woke up at 6:20, said "Eff it, Let's GO back to sleep."

 

Some good person found an arrow I launched into orbit last week and put it on the target at the public range. Awesome.

Same plan I wad thinking but think I mat set up with mt back to the water, have to see what cover and shooting lanes look like.

Found a bunch of stuff last night, all my keys for trail cams and another cable lock so have all 3 trail cams with. Will hang sramd and them maybe cameras. Have to see how its feeling.

Should be in a tree by 1pm. Havd to stop and grab a couple small padlocks and a pack of broadheads.

 

Thanks everyone for the congrats I truly appreciate it. I wanted to get that deer dragged out and off to the butcher. I stopped to talk to the landowner then I noticed a plethora of tics so rushed home and got changed. Good luck this evening whoever is going out. I think I’ll be in a tree in the am. Thanks again.

 

Got down at 11 unhooking my bow had small buck walk by other than that no luck I’m out till morning probably got a birthday party to go too
