Thanks. I love this set up.

This evening was the first time I’ve actually carried the bike cart into the woods, used it to cart the deer to the bike and then towed it home.

The whole cart only weighs somewhere around 20 pounds. The wheels quick detach and it can be collapsed flat and packed in.

Me and the guy on the north side of creek both had 6 sightings each. He got to watch a couple does fight, had a short video when they were on hind legs. But oddly he said they were butting heads, had one pictyre of them and they basically had their heads down and pushed together. He thinks they were too big to be button bucks.

Guy on the southside has called the search for tonight, wasn't sure on shot and had good blood. Said he was getting too far back to continue tonight. I'm guessing it will not be recovered, coyotes more on that side.

While going for the 2 antlerless I do not see a need to cross the creek, plenty of deer on the northside, just have to get off the ground and do it right and cut them off rarher than wait for them to show.

Lone wolf in the truck. I haven't eaten in 48 hours and didn't have water with me. So I'm gonna eat half a dozen eggs and a porterhouse.

Weighed 204 on the scale tonight. Hopefully that helps with carrying the stand in.

Tomorrow will start with calm winds and switching to west in the morning/afternoon. Killing conditions.

Well sick to my stomach. My top two shooters came out this evening got to 20 yards and kept licking his nose which he did all the way in checking the wind. My wind swirled just enough and caught my wind. Took off, never blew. The other buck didn’t know what was going on. Was so sick. All i needed him to do was to take one more step. Biggest deer i have ever had that close. I thought by the pics he was 160 but he might push 170s or more. These are the two that came in. IMG_7704.JPG

Nothing for me tonight. Once again I found out there’s no free rides on public land. My E bike is pretty much useless going up and down these super steep rocky washed out cart roads to my good spots. Of course I didn’t get my fat ass in shape like I did in previous years because I had the bike. Once again another honor roll semester for me in the school of hard knocks known as the woods that I hunt. My own fault for trying to take the easy way out. Gear is re-packed for tomorrow morning. 0300 wake up

Thats awesome!!! This reminds me of a good buddy of mine. Went out on river and killed limit of ducks in first half hr of shooting time. On way back decided his bow was in boat and had a stand not too far. As soon as he climbed up and hung his bow on hangar a doe walks by and he drops it. So since it was only 9am and he had limit of ducks and a tagged doe he flipped fish finder on in boat and found school of white bass. Somewhere that pic lives. Limit of ducks, nice fatty doe, and a cooler full of white bass in one morning. His chest was puffed out for about a month after that haha.

Dude that's rough! It's a tough game we play and the deer win more then we like. Keep at it. And looking at that picture I would say he might be north of 170.

So, I'm guessing other hunter on this side was somewhere in the red circle. That buck(yellow line) was 15 yds behind him heading east and he was set up on a ridge. The buck was north of us both.

I've always suspected the deer bed in the blue from when I see them in the spring.

As I'm typing this he thinks he was between red and blue and deer he was seeing was just left of the blue.

I'm thinking about setting up somehwere near/in the white. I know they travel mostly west to east, but that body of water east of the blue is fairly shallow on the west end of it, knee deep at most.

I think that flat area above where it says Lick creek may be bedding as well. Just going on a hunch there. Maybe set up north of that as well?

I didn't see any deer tonight, I think I know why, as I was walking out so was another hunter.

He apologized for cutting through the area I was hunting. He didn't know I was in there. He seen a few bucks, just little ones thou. He asked if I had seen the bear. I told not yet this year but I did see him last yr in here.

    Anyone wanna trade luck?

When I plug yhe tctacam in to charge the light turns red. Keep waiting for it to turn green. Figured batteries are kaput, tried to turn it on, all 4 leds green. Fully charged, both if them. Cool I'll mount it on the bow when set up, simple. Put the cover on amd forgot to see if it had a sd card. Pop sd card out, 64gb, excellent.

Put sd card back in and it failed to catch and my fingernail slipped off it. Launches it 5 feet in the air, bunces off the wall 4 feet away, hits th cluttered coffee tavle and I cannot find it. Think it may have bounced off the table and went down floor vent for hvac.

    Ugh!!!!!

Found the original 5gb card so can still use it.

On a more positive note, had a trail cam in the truck, but ws padlocked shut and couldn't find the key for it or the cable lock. Found both trail cams here at home and one of them had the 2 cable lock keys and the padlock key on it. So I'll get 2 cameras strapped up tomorrow to see if any bucks worth pursuing may do some midday scouting to find some fresh rubs to hang one at.

Getting a bit ahead of myself still needing two antlerless kills first. This is all a new way of hunting for me having had private land the past 15 years, I have to learn gow to DIY hunt and find, set up on and execute based on sign. With limited access to this piece why nit start here.

All of my good bucks are on the south end of our property which is impossible to get to without blowing deer out until the crops are out. Still might go get into the north swamp tomorrow morning. Will be a frosty one.

Just had this new one show up a bit ago on the south end.

Legal lite tomorrow is 6:32am, with liggt coming from the east I think if I set up somewhere near the earlier white circle or even where I hunted today it won't be as bad with light breaking through as it is with sunset. That hillside is pretty clear and why it is a good early season morel spot, lots of sun and the substation creates an opening in the east canopy as well.

Calm wind hs me perplexed on how to set up. Going to get in early hopefully, I've never hung a stand in the dark.

So, what's everyone's thoughts on safety harness life?

I have a brand new never been used, washed or exposed to elements other than indoors Seat of the Pants harness. One of those impulse buys that I just had to have, probably via this forum.

Tag says 5 years blah, blah, blah.... not liable etc.

Date of manufcture was April, 2013. So it is 4 1/2 years beyond their 5 year date, but have to think that 5 years contains 5 years of seasonal wear and tear and exposure to UV and other elements.

I think I can trust it without issue.

    What says you?

Thought I had a linesman belt as well, turns out it was just a prussic knot tether for the tree. Meijer nor Wal Mart showing in stock locally.

Think I can turn one into a belt, have 3, all about the knot. Morning likely from the ground, behind a tree that has been there for decades rather than a 18 hour blind.
