No doubt there, to the lunatics. I encourage everyone to carry when they legally can, but understand proper firearm safety and handling before doing so.
Where I hunt in Ohio apparently it’s a bad area. Years ago I shot a buck and went to a diner for lunch to give it some time and the waitress was baffled I was out there solo and told me to make sure I lock my truck and carry bc alot of drugs and robbery’s in the area. Some time after I was confronted by a couple guys, they were very close talkers for strangers. I displayed my CC and they went on their way, hope to never need to use it but it feels good to have some backup.
They were trying to find a way to get in close to you. Same thing happened to me. Took my wife and kids out to fish on a river and to guys come out of nowhere talking about my fishing gear and saying all kids of wild stuff while making weird moves around us. No one was around. I knew what was up and things got bad for them quick. They left.
Hard to imagine nothing happened based on what they played. Just have to pray for anyone who’s going through that stuff or has to deal with whatever it is that’s causing it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Weird ****, I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt but I stay guarded and alert. I’d rather be prepared and not have to use it then passive and be a victim. Weird world we’re in now too, I’m 36 and just from when I was with my dad as a young kid this never was even in consideration. Really sad.
between the moon and the 30* temp drop from today into tomorrow, I got a gigantic bowhunting boner. Unfortunately it will go unsated tomorrow as I have to be a good son and brother and stop by to see my parents and sister for the first time since she almost died last year from the Vid; but Sat-Monday will be all day sits. Great job all you killers!
Happy Birthday, Noods! Let’s toast a drink sometime thru the day to this incredible day of October 7th and the incredible spawn it produced throughout the years… Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
This sucks. I went to bed at 9:30 totally exhausted but I woke up at 2:30 and can’t get back to sleep. I should have slept like a rock until at least 5:00 or 6:00. My plan for today was to sleep in, relax most of the day and get on stand after a doe about 3:00 pm. I would just get ready and go but I didn’t prep my gear. Also, while I am awake, I’m tired and don’t want to bother with it in the dark. I’ll just stick to the part of the plan I can still execute.
Same here, Johnny… I went to work after killing and hanging that doe .. got home at 7:30 to get her and throw her in the Pie Van (I miss my pickup) to take her to the processor who actually does the processing job like I do it, (wife insisted as she didn’t want me spending my birthday butchering a deer)…. Home by 8:45…. So 13 1/2 hours after engaging the release I was exhausted… you would think I’d fall right asleep… nope… I watched almost all of that god awful game last night and finally fell asleep and I was up by 4:30… I expected to sleep in… nope Now I wanna go out hunting but it’s raining pretty good here… ugh Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
All set up at the gun club, not where I wanted to be, I ran into the other guy that seriously hunts this place, he already had his stuff set in the tree for this morning so I took my saddle elsewhere off his recommendation and the scouting I did the week before the opener, just inside the woods in between a swamp and the corn, I’ve seen them go back and fourth between the corn and woods here before, just have to take the right trail, does are on the menu until about 7:45 probably lol got acorns dropping around me so I could be in for a good sit!!!
The predictions keep fluctuating, but it looks like a 25 degree temp drop in 12 hrs or so beginning this afternoon. Hold on to your rear parts fellas!
