my anniversary is on 11/11. Veterans Day. I haven’t t been home for my anniversary in I don’t know how long. This year I will be in Kansas again for our 20th. We will hopefully be able to take a trip this winter somewhere warm.

Getting ready to head in to a spot I found on that fiasco known as opening day. It's a little ridge that overlooks a transition from bedding to feeding. I sort of stumbled onto it on my way out Saturday morning. Lots of tracks and some rubs. And l Iike I said, it's between bedding and feeding, so we'll see what happens. Good luck to anyone else out!

Little mid day scouting. Found the Hitchhiker bucks bed. Prepare to die earth scum. Also, according to LC, I won't even need to bring food and can eat these little green sobs all day. 20221005_135618.jpg 20221005_135417.jpg 20221005_135350.jpg 20221005_133151.jpg

Very impressive cold front moving in tonight and I am here for it. 72 now 49 tomorrow with 20mph north winds. Haven't been in a stand in a week.

I'm considering wearing chest waders in and then dumping them by the stand. Every time I go in there I spend 2 hrs removing those things.

Sitting on the ground overlooking a green field. I am kind of improvising since I know deer are passing by this corner of the field periodically. I feel like I'm hidden pretty well with 2 small openings to shoot through.

Now, I had a choice of three different stands, two of which have real-time cameras placed there. I did not choose the one with a camera. So, if'n I get a pic of a big buck strolling by one of those other stands, while I'm in this one, y'all might just hear a preacher cuss!

Eventually you'll get used to spotting them and avoiding them and still spending 2 hours picking them off.

Good luck guys, hubby and I spent some time together this afternoon ate lunch together. He got home earlier than expected so he was thrilled with his gift. Warm chocolate chip walnut cookies fresh out of the oven. I got 7 1/2 dozen of those done and 6 dozen batch of peanut butter cookies in frig. ready to bake tonight. Oatmeal raisin tomorrow.. vac sealing and freezing them to have on hand any time he wants them.
I had a leak in chicken coop blind roof so took today to wrap the roof in a tarp until New roof goes on next spring. We have metal roof that was to be goat barn but he decided on buying new. He likes this blind, it's on the ground so offered to put a roof on it next year. Perfect gun, crossbow deer ,Turkey blind. I have one window that is great for compound as well as the good weather outside under roof seating. Bow hunted that many times.
Checking weather to see when next sit will be...

How wild is this...buddy of mine bought some mini mountain land in southwestern VA about 10 years ago. The terrain is bigtime. He has slowly improved it. His work schedule finally changed this year and allowed him to hunt opening week. He hunted Monday and Tuesday nights and this is what he killed. He is absolutely blown away. We both talked about how that may be a once in a lifetime Trifecta. Crazy!
