Snapshot from my tactacam video. That's a dead deer. Just need to find it in the AM. Lung, liver or lung heart cause of the angle. That's the fletching protruding from the deer's left shoulder. The rest of the bolt is in its chest.
Pretty hard quarter to, how long are your bolts and how high up? Hard to judge angle there with the blurred image but with my bolts on crossbow I had that could be a missed vitals shot IMO. Not trying to be a debbie downer or anything, just setting realistic expectations. Hope you recover.
Also, I don't think liver is an option on that shot, best bet is broadhead did not exit but blood trail may be scarce.
30 feet up and 45 out, could be single lung and/or heart. I can't see it reaching diaphram though. Mid opposite side single lung maybe, guessing it spun and ran back towards you so nit sure of exact angle of entry. Either way, a bleeding deer still has a chance of bleeding out. Good luck in the AM.
Well, I had a pretty good day. I had just sent good wishes to VT in this thread and said I have 15 min left, and bye. I watching the field out in front of me and I hear something near the bottom of the tree that I'm in , and look down and the path that is 4 yards from me comes a fawn then I see mom, and then 2 nd fawn. My camera takes a pic / flash. I'll get those pics tomorrow. They move out in front of me to about 12 yards. I stand, I had just sat down. Get ready and pull back anchor and release. I think she stepped as I hit her a touch back. I did hit liver and one lung along with guts. I cked arrow and see gut material. Call a friend / neighbor we go out and I found her all the way across the field. 80-100 yards. She made it out of the corn field. By 7 yards. Ok blood on the corn stalks.
My last reference to it, it's run its course . I've done it twice, once with bow and second with shotgun.
