I hunt the first week of the season, starts tomorrow, cautiously. I don't want to educate deer and I am super careful to hunt the wind. The next 10 days, mid Oct, I slow down and will hunt just a few times - hunting patterns. Once Oct 20 comes along, I consider this the prerut, I hunt as often as possible. When the pressure is in the 30.0-30.4 range bucks tend to move more, so I take advantage of those days.
Gonna go out for an afternoon scout and hunt! Heading to a spot I've always wanted to check out, but couldn't get to....
Haha! I bet Bill has been holding onto that one for awhile and waiting for Joe to post. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
37 degrees this morning.. man I can’t wait for tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
A half dozen or more deer will be down from Fri to Sunday on this thread. We need someone to break the ice today.
Barometer at 29.22 at my place...winds already gusting over 35. I've gotten up from the desk to check for deer in the back a half dozen times...pretty sure they are bunkered down...peaks around midnight...looks like it clears up tomorrow. Hmmm
Gas costs? Wear and tear on my vehicle? Don't care. Driving an hour for like a 0.001% chance. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CjJASCrp71J/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
The action should pick up in the morning with more season’s opening up. Good luck and stay safe 16 more day for me.
All setup. A lot more moving parts than I can thought with using a bike. Just gotta get in a set routine like anything we do. No sign of human activity, plenty of deer sign. Saw my first deer already when I was climbing up.to far away to tell what it was, but it is right where I figured a buck would bed. I thought I was closer to the hill but I couldn’t tell with the undergrowth. Good luck pm shift!!!
