Some of you sure had an exciting weekend. Nice shot there Mongo and nice shots!?!? Ridge Westfinger - I am stoked you found him - dandy buck Humpty...the humpty dance is your chance, to do the hump - sweet shot on a good buck The main farm I hunt took out a bunch of tree lines and put in a center pivot. They didn't finish the work until June. So, I never cleaned up and moved my tree stands. My brother and a friend helped me yesterday put up three stands and clear shooting lanes on an existing stand. I have 3 other stands up on that property. I started a mock scrap by digging a post hole and putting up a "tree" in an ideal location to see if I could centralize some activity. The MI opener is Saturday and the temp is predicted to be 44 degrees! I'll be LIVE then.
This doe mission might have turned into a buck mission. Was scouting my way in and along this semi dried creek bed saw some big tracks and followed them to a big bed, I swung around and there’s a pile of rubs and I setup up between the bed and the field, about 15 yds from the creek bed. There’s a thicket right behind where the bed is. Bunch of trails from field to thicket. Could get interesting tonight. Two doe in field already about 100yds out.
Good luck tonight killers! I’m already itching to get back out. Maybe next week or two. The neighbor and I hunt almost the same identical area on our conjoining property line and work together to not hunt on top of each other or at the same time. I’m giving him free reign next couple weeks and staying out if possible cause there’s about two to three other shooters in there and I have already got the one buck. Here’s the broad heads I’m using this year and this thing absolutely destroyed that bucks shoulder with ease. I was in awe. My arrow isn’t very heavy either. I think I’m shooting like 440 grains. I started shooting the Magnus Black Hornets last year. I only shot a doe last season, but, she took two steps and toppled over dead. Had no idea what had happened.
I dunno, the adjacent property sounds like they’re training to go fight in Ukraine ! I hope they save the brass to reload haha.
20mph NW winds. Don’t really have many spots that favor the wind direction so I am on the ground in the corner of our bean field. We will see what happens! Good luck everyone that’s out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bruh...I'd bet a round of drinks that bad boy is at least 4.5 yo. He's a brute- look at that neck and it's not even October.
that is Time to Hunt Lite; it was never offered on iPhone so far as I know and it hasn't been offered in the Google Play store for years; but it still works. It no longer allows me to update my location so it's stuck on Chicago-area time and settings; but I just adjust an hour forward for when I am in MI and appx. 30 minutes later when I am at my spot in WI.
Let ya down @Holt I had 8 doe milling in the field allll night, they worked slowly to me from 100 to 55, didn’t get any closer. I’m off till this weekend I think.
50yds from me tonight. I was tucked into the wind row and never got a shot. Lots of does and fawns. Nanny caught my smell from my track in and blew earlier on. If I do that again I’ll walk in 20 rows or so next time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@virginiashadow and I will be there in the AM- those are our favorite hunting conditions. Cloudy with 100% chance of raining lead.
