No luck for me, stupid buck walked up hill, pretty sure he would have passed right by my other field stand spot…ughhhh I’m always a step behind these stinking animals.
I got to watch 3 stupid little bucks screw around for 2.5 hours, then they walked right where they were supposed to, but I needed that big fella to do the same.

Well I have a story also, but doesn't end well. Wanted to update but no service in this area.

Scouted in this evening. Wanted to try some hill country hunting because I suck at it. Well couldnt find anything that I wanted sit. So I know a little 1 acre swamp near by and I head towards it. Now I'm in my wheel house. I find right away what I'm looking for, buck sign. I climb the tree directly over top it. Then realize its a dead tree. So climb down and move 10 yards to new tree. I see nothing for whole sit until 7. Then I hear a faint sound of something walking. I spot it at 25 yards. It walks another 5 yards and stops at 20 yards. He now proceeds to stand perfectly still in that spot just staring at the little patch of jewel weed that I'm setup over. Goes on for 5 minutes. Finally turned his head and looked behind, but I missed my chance. About 30 seconds later he turns his head again and I'm ready and draw. At this point I can hear my heart beating in my ears! He has me completely tore up! I settle the pin on front tip of his shoulder, he has his leg back and slight quartering to me. I shooting for the heart and the second I released I saw the arrow go thru him. I get down and the arrow is completely greased. Right then I know I just shot him thru the brisket. When I shot he ran 20 yards and stopped, then just walked off as quiet as he came in. Thought that was weird. I followed blood for 50 yards and it just stopped. It was nothing but muscle blood.

It was a amazing hunt and at same time sucked for wounding a animal like that. Im confident he will be fine to see another day.

Everything worked just like it should, I couldn't have planned it better. Then I go and mess up the shot. It was crazy, I was hunting in a really thick spot, but there was not one single branch between him and me. Both of us were completely wide open. That never happens. It was a long 5 minute show down! Haha

Congrats to all the killers !! Been working. I’ll be hunting in VA starting on the opener. My buck is at the taxidermist and broadhead has been resharped and is ready for a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th deer, I can’t remember.

I’ll be spending 11/1-11 in MD.
