MO actually just opened a limited quota season two years ago. Some of the bears from here in Arkansas have been making it into southern MO. As @Swamp Stalker said, when @virginiashadow is involved, the bears find away.

I went peep less a couple years ago. Have been really thinking hard about going back. I did it for shooting in low light, but that rarely happens and usually only effects me once or twice a year. Might be time for me to go back to a peep.

Nice! I was wondering if you ever did, I know it was discussed last season. I've never hunted without a peep, couldn't imagine not having it when forced into an awkward shot angle.

Hope it helps, you might see a few this year equal to them river bucks a couple seasons ago.

That one big boy on that island is the biggest buck Ive ever seen in the woods. True hammer. Clint I need to find some catfishing holes on the Missouri and Mississippi and we need to link up and fish some time. Might be some redneck walk and find a river bank and catfish as I don't have a boat.

Holt--I like hunting without a peep bc I can get up on target quick. But that is a problem for me. That peep will make me slow down a bit which I need, and so do my eyes.

I know not much about fishing the Mississippi, or where bank access points are aside from obvious near the arch or boat launches(not even sure about them). I have a 14' jon boat that I wouldn't even consider for the big muddy

I know MO has some good cold water streams, Current River, Merrimec, Black River etc where you can get into some smallmouth, just have to deal with float traffic during the warm months.

Good to see everyone starting to get back on the forum!! Velvet is starting to show on my cell cams, high hopes for MD early on. I am going to need to kill early because there is only one picture that will matter this year…. IMG_5370.JPG
My wife and I are expecting our first child, due date for baby girl is 11/23 but since my wife is a type 1 diabetic they will only allow her to go 39 weeks at the latest, likely 37 weeks so that puts me at the beginning of November! Hope all is well with everyone!!

Really considering taking 10/31 - 11/4 off this year. Minnesota gun opener opens 11/5. Have never really taken time off to hunt (outside of a day or 2).

Congrats. Get that buck killed by late October. You won't be hunting after that, and, for the best reason possible.
