Which direction do you think theyre heading after coming through that opening. Can you mark bedding on the map?

    Good luck!

While you're there, ask Gov Murphy why he is so opposed to bear hunting...

My guess would be that they are heading to the oaks to the west of me (marked on map). There are 3 big oak trees at the opening I want to put a stand, and those are basically the only oaks on our property. I assume they are using our ag fields and making their way to those oaks (which I can't hunt).

Good luck to everyone out today and this weekend!
I'm heading back to elk camp after work today. Supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday, have my rain gear ready. My two hunting partners that are already there say they are starting to bugle so it will hopefully be a fun weekend. Going to hunt all day tomorrow since it's the only day with no rain. Tactic will be walking logging roads all day and locator bugling to try to get on one willing to play, then go in after him.

Hmm. Next question would be do you know which crops theyre feeding in. Are they in the corn? And is it standing? Or the hay? Im asking only to see if there is a way you could loop around and come in from the south. Would that be even feasible or would it present the same problem. I was thinking something like coming in from where your stand is right now. Walking north to south through middle of corn assuming its standing. Then approaching from there. It makes it hard that the strips on your edges are so thin. So far i would probably hunt only evenings if it was me. Going off only the map
*edit to add is there a way someone could actually drive you out there in side by side or truck. Purposely blow them out with vehicle. Thats kinda risky how they will react but ive seen it work

    I’m down and back home.

Once again, I saw nothing. Well, nothing from the stand. When I was walking in this morning I hadn’t even made it to the gate at the end of our short driveway and a deer bounded away from the fence. I got to see the white tail bouncing away in my headlight beam.

I’m hunting, seeing nothing and I bump deer within 40 yards of the house.

I think I’ll take a break for a day or so. No need in burning myself out.

I'm taking a break too. Did you see the forecast for next Wednesday and Thursday? Looks like our first true September cold front. Gonna be a good time to distribute carbon darts to the boiler room. Meanwhile I'm going to Truman lake later today.

Well, it's a bit late as I got it yesterday. Gun, not bow, but still wanted to post it.

I love Ontario, just beautiful up here. [IMG]
