Up for the morning sit. Same tree as yesterday afternoon. I’ve yet to see a deer in the morning this trip but I’m here anyway.
Saw a nice buck this morning ~5:30am, still carrying his rack...wm here I usually think mid Feb is prime shed dropping time.
I saw two bucks at 60 yards about a half hour ago. One was a shed buck and the other still had one small four point side. At least I saw deer this morning.
I did some bike scouting this morning after I got down. I’m set up in a totally new spot this afternoon. The old road ends at a creek crossing. I rode the bike back there earlier and jumped a group of does. From the end of the road there is a narrow cedar thicket that angles to the south edge of the green field. I looked at the SE section of the green field and they are hammering it They will come at it from all directions but I’m covering the travel corridor from the creek crossing following the cedars. It’s worth a shot.
Good luck, if that is the spot I think it is, I have been meaning to get back in there and scout that creek bottom. It looks like it would be a great cutoff coming into the fields.
Almost killed a doe this evening. WHY do they have to walk straight to my tree? Is it too much to ask for them to just walk by at 10-20 yards?
I won't be on stand tonight, but going on my first official night time coyote hunt. Me and couple people have been gearing up this last month. Think we are all ready to give it a try. It will be 2 guys on the guns and 2 more coming to watch/ run callers. Plan to start around 5:30 this evening and go as late as possible or til we run out of land. Put out a couple dead deer a couple days ago at one site. Then other sits will be in locations that we have been seeing them this month and just blind calling for them. Plan on using red light to tag a few. This property is just getting over run with them. Also it seems they come running in during deer season just from gun shots, know there might be a dead deer. Going to be fun no matter what! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I'm on mission to get me a coyote! Either with a trap or rifle , I don't care. Tonight is going to be a big learning curve, since none of us have done this before, for coyote. Taking a big crock pot full of deer Bbq, that should keep us feed for the night! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
You guys are bringing food?! Damn I need to yote hunt with you all. We go out all the time. Two gunners and a fox pro. I like your way better.
First yote just sounded off. About 200 yards out in the bottoms. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
