Trying to figure out this 3000 acre lake spot. Getting down in the thicker near the lake away from everyone.

Well I put some more pieces of the puzzle together. Found a connector ridge from one side of the lake to the other and put it together with the piece I found about 3 years ago. Follow some trails that cut over around and Started to pick it up some big tracks.

Still black spots and getting more cloudy as it breaks up. It's a real treat to look at white snow with a black tint in one eye.

That's what had me wondering all that snow on the ground. I know blue skies and snow is when I can really see my floaters, have had them since I was at least 10, noticed them on the school bus ride home from school.

    Hopefully it recovers fully.

That's what I was thinking too. A piece of 3D camo like you'd use to build a blind. It should be easy to carry in a small bag and just cover the bike. Still, I think it would be a good idea NOT to put it right at the base of my tree. 20 - 30 yards out would be better. That way they'd be stomping around staring at it in chip shot range.

    good luck!
I enter KY's every year. Odds are about 1/100,000 for NRs, but it's only like $10 to enter.

Well I entered. Wouldnt have a clue as how to hunt them other than get in their environment and stay down wind. Ha

Yeah that was the first time for me. But I was able to about 2/3 the meat off her. I already cut her up and she's in the freezer!

Plan to take a week off in or around September and 'invite yourself' (make your desire known you want to learn) on somebody else's hunt.

Plenty of guys on here make the western pilgramage annually...myself included.

Top tips: Don't be an ass, pay your own way, offer to help (chores, record video, whatever)...

The flip is also true, offer to help (pack, scout, whatever) for others, if they draw VA...

Well worth the money should you draw or head out west for elk sometime. Think of it as a graduate level course in elk hunting.

Also check out the Born and Raised Outdoors Land of the Free project on Youtube and Destination Elk, both are well worth the watch if you haven't already. BRO just wrapped season four and DE is currently airing season four. But, it is worth the watch to start back in season one.
