I have buddys that drew lotto hunts in Ohio and they both killed very large bucks, one was a marsh and the other was a park. Good luck! I drew one year but it was doe only haha, apparently I didn’t read good enough when I was applying to the different hunts!

That was a dark walk in and QUIET!
GET settled in stand and I'm thinking you can hear a bug breath it's so quiet. ...then a red fox walks under me and I hear the first putt. I'm surrounded by turkey. They just flew out and down the hill. Dozens of them. That was fun. Other than the fox and them ...a billion upset chippers and two crazy greys.

Oh yeah, I need some luck. I need the deer to move here.

I’ve had tons of movement on camera and now nothing.

1 in 3 chance of getting wet this PM. Those temps are great this time of year, usually in the 80s. East wind is perfect for my afternoon stand.

Here is my land (red box). White arrow is where I park/enter.

Trying to figure out a way to hunt this in the mornings. It's basically impossible without blowing deer out of the fields, but it's supposed to be real hot this weekend and I've got some nice bucks coming from our beans on the south, through an opening on the blue star. I got 5 pictures of 3 bucks I would shoot at gray light the last 1-2 weeks. The pink star is where my stand is now. I think that would work, but all of my big bucks have been on the south end of the property. Thinking of pulling my stand and moving it to the blue star to catch the big bucks moving back to bedding on the neighbors.. But then I most certainly will blow deer out of the fields.

Trying to decide if I just don't hunt the mornings, or make a move and try to get lucky.

41 degrees for opener Saturday morning. 0-5mpg ESE winds. I want to make a move to where I've got pictures of bucks, but I also want to be smart about what I'm doing.

Not even opening day and here I am.

It's odd that the bait doesn't get hit pretty much every day once it is found. Are you letting it run out of bait? You absolutely want to make sure it always has food. A PIA to do, but necessary. It's fine if they eat all of it when they come in, but you want them to find food again the very next time they return. In my experience if it runs out of food for more than about 24 hours they'll either start only checking it every two to 3 days or they'll abandon it completely.
Another great tactic to help more bears find it faster is to use old fryer oil around the bait. Many restaurants are more than willing to give it to you, as they pay someone to haul it off for them. Put lots of oil all around the bait site so the bears get it all over their legs. When they walk away they leave a scent trail to the bait for another bear to find.
I just use cheap expired bread from the bread store for bait. Put some of the fryer oil on it, but make sure to leave enough to pour out on the ground all around the bait. The used oil jugs I get hold around 4 gallons. I put about 1-1/2 on the bread and the rest all around the bait site.

Thanks over the years it has been. It's the only place I've been getting good pics of both big buck but big doe as well.
I'm back in though...skeeters. Oh man their blood supply flew away and they honed in on me. Well A.J. lost his mind when he saw me getting ready to leave making me forget my thermacell. Only thing not covered were my eyes and they swarmed me.
The good thing about a early doe only.....getting all the first hunt issues out of the way and a routine down.
LIKE putting A.J in a crate before I leave. He hasn't needed a crate since last year...until yep throw pillow stuffing EVERYWHERE down stairs....must have been something about the hunting clothes that set him off. I leave him alone in the house all the time when I have errands to run no issues.
It was great watching the sun come up again.
