Scouting and shed hunting are 2 different animals. I find I can't do both, it has to be one or the other. I know when I'm strictly focused on sheds, I usually find them. I think I'm going to start getting away from just shed hunting and scout more. The pressure has picked up the last 2 years and getting really hard to stay on deer. I need to up my game. Quick while there are no deer. One buck showed up 80 yards out in the thicket. He went SW. 9 does fed by at 45. One tracked me for a long way. I still think I’m in a great location with real potential. 30 more minutes.
Well I'm going to give this hunting thing one more shot tomorrow evening. I got the dumbest plan ever. I have found a small group of does bedding in a tiny finger of woods not even 50 yards wide. It is only 50 yards off the main road. I'm going to feel stupid hunting there, but it's going to be a crazy challenge. I sure hundreds of cars drive by it daily. I'm going to sneak in a couple hours before dark and setup in a tree. If don't feel I can climb one, then will sit the ground. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Its just such a weird spot. I will almost be sitting in someone's front yard. Its a spot no one in there right mind would hunt. It holds the deer though because its so thick. Its just a over grown drainage ditch between 2 over grown grass fields. Should be interesting
That ain't one bit stupid Holt! If people paid more attention, they could learn deer are not always where we think they "should be". If we see deer in an area, there IS A REASON! good luck fellas.
EVERYONE here in Arkansas thinks there is something wrong with me. They’re all saying “it’s too cold” or “it’s too windy”. I’m just putting in the hours and thinking it’s just a matter of time. What was it they said to me that one time? Oh yeah, they said that I was too “goal oriented”. I guess I am, but like I’ve said before, I prefer to think of it as “driven to succeed”.
