Bear Baiting varies SO much by state... E.g. In NC we can't bait using processed foods/bait... But can hunt with dogs.

I'd have to double check the suggestion from @cantexian but think it's valid here...

I know dog food is popular option in some areas (with sweets) especially if your state allows Baiting barrels.

NC yotally sounds like a 180 from WI rules.

Know your regs! When in doubt RTFM!

I don't think so. You always seem to hit it just right.

I’m set up for the pm sit.

I brought another climber in and I’m about 100 yards south of where I was this morning.

The wind is all over the place though. It needs to settle down.

I’m too tired to even turn the tv on so I’ll just sit here and wait till you shoot something. Good luck

I’m sitting right at the SE corner of my property. East is downhill and my property borders a wooly cut-over draw on the East.

I won’t shoot a doe here in the evening until late season because it’ would be an ugly recovery with a ton of disturbance.

I do have permission to recover deer on all the properties that are next to mine so that’s not a concern.

Back in the same spot from this morning. The wind is good for this spot, but I'm not sure the deer will move my way with this wind as it will be at their backs. Oak behind me and 2 water sources close by including the one in front of me. I can hear a squirrel cutting acorns behind me. Doe or buck can cross here. Does are fair game in this spot.

Is that a countdown to a shot or the close of shooting light?

I’m down. I saw nothing. Second sit in a row.

Like I said though, it’s just a matter of time.

Nothing here. Beautiful out and pretty comfortable temps for early season. It only gets better.

I'm back in. Didn't have enough service to get online but could get text out.

Ended up seeing 2 bucks, 5 does, and 2 fawns. 9 deer in totall, all in range. Some could have been the same ones coming back thru again.

Now the crappy part. I had the biggest doe come in about 1 hour before dark and feed on acorns under me at about 10 yards. I took the shot and she ducked and I completely missed over her back. This season just keeps getting worse. And to add insult to injury, I stuck my arrow right into the tree behind the deer. Broadhead completely buried and gone, was able to unscrew and keep the arrow.

I was fine until the wind died. Then I started sweating. It was warm here.
