I have noticed that. Oaks on property I hunt are everywhere now but I have a few giant trees in my yard that don’t seem to have any on them this year. Trees in my yard are red oaks I believe.

I’m down and back at the house. It’s only about a seven minute walk.

    Didn’t see a deer.

I’ll go back out this afternoon.

Gonna make a quick run to get my new strings put on between meetings. I'll have to make site adjustments as soon as I get home if I want to hunt this evening. Hopefully this goes smoothly.

Got the shoe moulding done in the kitchen last night... This morning I realized I missed nailing 1 piece.

Tonight, hopefully swing by Lowes pick up more moulding for the family room and BPS for a new pepe sight. I lost my peep second to last day in MT in a spectacular fall. I was able to check everything out and get a practice shot in as I now keep a judo pointed arrow on the quiver....squirrels, be forewarned.

If I can get stuff done around the house, maybe, just maybe, I can get a sit in Fri evening or Sat...

That early season cold hurt us on the acorn front. Glad you all still have some down there.

What are you using for bait?
Perhaps it was shot by someone else?

Woooo! That was an expensive trip. New strings, new release and they actually had a pack of magnus black hornets. Perfect tune to boot. Love that shop. Got a spring in my step partly because of a lighter wallet.

They got new strings on as soon as you brought it in. Wow
I am finally going to pick mine up today with new strings and the shop has had the bow for just over 2 weeks.
Outta curiousity, what they charge you for the strings?

I bet you do have a lighter wallet. As long as it pays off later it just doesn't matter.

I ordered the strings 2 weeks ago and they build them in house. I shoot a hoyt Helix, so it is two piece system and they run a bit more expensive than say a one cam string. 165 clams. He told me I was the only one all year to show up same day to have strings installed. Everywhere else quoted me 185.

I guess they could have been shot but the last hit was a week before season started. (9/8)

Using pastries, fried bread for the grease scent, pop corn with bacon grease flavor, plain bread with syrup. Pretty much anything with carbs and sweet.

Any tips for a rank beginner?

Kill a deer, throw the guts on the bait pile if legal.
