About 45 minutes left. Nothing but obnoxious people so far. Maybe a squirrel.

Got to get out for a little bit. Didnt hunt but me and a buddy hung a set and fixed up and re camo’d the collapsed ground blind. Hope to get a couple more does down here by the weekend. This property we left alone since right around thanksgiving. A lot of fresh sign and a couple monster tracks. We have huge bucks here every year late season but they are nocturnal as can be. Without super brutal vold temps i doubt anyone else gets a crack at one. Im bucked out so im sure ill have a beast walk in front of me. I had a couple cams i pulled but cant find my card reader so im off to wally world to get a new one.
Still going to get a tag for Missouri i think although its $265 but where im going has some good bucks on the farm moving right before and after daylight by food. If i can find out how to cut them off i may be able to put a 3rd buck down this year

Was only 6,048 pics, didn't realize this card had all my CD's I burned on it, so several hundred files were actually songs

Most were as expected, blanks taken every second. Not sure what's up with this camera, seems when it is innthe teens or lower it just goes crazy taking pics at will.

Until work had called me I had wanted to hunt yesterday before going back to work today.

Not sure what the rest of the property was like but wow were the deer moving at first light yesterday where I made the makeshift blind. Bucks and does both. I'll post a few pics in a bit.

No deer in range, I like the saddle setup. It’s Gonna take some reps to get comfortable with it and figure out my style with it.

I’m down and back at the house. I did see two deer way off on the neighbor’s property but I couldn’t tell what they were. I assume a doe and a fawn. They didn’t come my way so it didn’t matter much.

At least I saw deer. That’s more than I expected.

I’ll be going back out tomorrow morning.

A lot of pics, apologies in advance. Checked camera, the timestamp is slow by 18 minutes.

Started off with a forky at the scrape and a doe walking west. Had a southwest wind.

    EK005919.JPG

A decent buck was following her

    EK005920.JPG

Followed shortly after by another buck

    EK005936.JPG

Half hour later more does show up, 5 in total in this pic. one just off right side

    EK005944.JPG

    Hour later another small buck

    EK005953.JPG

Followed by another buck and what looks like a doe, possibly button buck? First buck is left side of pic

    EK005957.JPG

    Same 3 deer

    EK005958.JPG

Followed by another doe/button buck. Last deer of 3 above is deer on left

    EK005959.JPG

About 4 pm two more bucks show up, one on the left is a half rack

There was a ton of pics in between, just too many to post. I can't make sense of what was going on yesterday morning, not a typical 2nd rut sequence, bucks behind does and does behind the bucks.

One thing is for certain, never having a camera in this area before I think it is an area I need to put a little more focus on next year. Hang a stand rather than try to hunt from the ground. I'd have been 4-5 yds from most of the deer. Be hard to get a shot off from the ground

I am headed home. Nothing for me but lovely souls on the horses with dogs. Oh, and the person who drove by on a 4 wheeler after dark as I was climbing down.

I also need to change the name on that camera. This is not a mock scrape, wish I could make one this good  put the camera name on it probably 7 or so years ago when I tried to make one.

I did leave the 4 wheeler in the truck, hoping for a last minute southward shift on Saturday's storm. Very unlikely it happens, but just in case, I'm ready to toss the sled under it and get in a snow hunt.

Finally on the board! Shot him at 22 yards last night. Double lung and found him 70 yards from impact. C825F0C6-3329-4CF8-BEAD-1DD39780EAAC.jpeg 62B11CD0-E2DF-4527-81F6-DD3B1F6E82F1.jpeg

Excellent RanBo! Late season deer in cold/snow adds a whole notter dimension to "tough to do".
    Well done!

Can't even fathom what I'm gonna say but..., I have one tag left,at my cabin with a broke down truck. (Costly).
I'm stuck here for the day tomarro.
_18* by daybreak. I'm thinking I may pull the old man outta me and replace it with a young stupid kid I once was.
I have several stands within a couple minutes walk from my cabin.
    Can I do it,will/should I do it?
    What say you?
Dammit, can't believe I'm even THINKING about it.

14" of fresh snow _20* aint real appealing but...?
No decision will be made till 7a.m. tomarro.
I'm hoping I'm talking outta my ass right now
What's the coldest you all have ever sat in a tree?

Hell, I've layed prone in snowbanks in Montana calling coyotes in _30*
    I need another .

I saw one doe fawn on the side of the road driving home. Too small to shoot even if it had been while hunting.
