I'm very sorry for your loss. He sounds like a great man. Let me give you something to think about. My grandmother, who raised me a good portion of my life, was a huge influence on me and is responsible for the man I am today. I was very close to her and was devastated when she passed away. But I thought about it and realised that I was 50yrs old when she died. There aren't a whole lot of people who's grandparents live until they are in their 50s. What it made me realise is that I was old enough to understand who she really was and what she had done for me and that made me thankful that I had her in my life that long. According to your profile, you are definitely old enough to really appreciate the kind of man he was and the great memories he left with you. There is nothing I can say that will make your loss any easier but I just wanted to give you a more positive way of seeing it. Blessings. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Saddened to read of your grandfather's passing. Lost my mom to dementia... a horrible condition indeed. Prayers to you and your family and all who loved him. I've been told there's a special place in heaven for Marines. May that old jar head Rest in Peace, in the arms of our Lord.
I am very lucky indeed. He lived an amazing life and although im not half the man he was, it gave me a roll model to look up to until the day i die. Thanks for the kind words Jim, and everyone else.
We had a good snow last night.. lots of early morning tracks at garden blind before I got there and one big doe on cam. Followed tracks into oakflats from this morning..maybe they will come back through. Snow is melting and it is EERY quiet. Not even the birds are being heard. Hubby's 64 birthday.. he won 10. 00 on lottery tickets in his card. Still sick and I have home made chicken soup going for his dinner. Starting to rain, figures I'm not in a blind ....lol
Shocker - sad to hear about your grandfather's passing. Sun - enjoy the inaugural trip. If I shoot a doe tonight, I'll be done for the season. If not, I might get out Saturday for the closing of the season.
I'm heading out in 10 minutes. Going to hunt in my yard. Had a group of 3 does come in yesterday evening. I got a tree that blew down and deer like to eat grass on the back side. I'm going to sit inside the tree top. Only 45 minutes til dark, going to be a quick hunt. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
No deer on the menu rest of the year. Splitting firewood now. Sure splits nice in this cold. A few days of peace n quite. _14* now.
I did not see one living thing Today. I did hear a sweet sounding owl at dusk and way too many dogs barking outside. It was still a nice sit just perfect conditions. So littlechief, I have tried everything, save hunting public. I'm going to try one more thing with just 3 days left I told you so.......... Now let's hope that clinches a, see you were wrong Chris, cosmic response.
Think my season is over. Going to head to property grab my 4 wheeler, trail cam and the bucket seat sometime tomorrow. Took a step backward with the Covid today, last thing I need is to sit in freezing temps and then the grunt work if I got something on the ground.
Didn’t make it out tonight, but I’m free all day tom. Gonna go am and Pm. Might wait till Pm to hit the saddle. Been making a pile of snack sticks and logs so meat is going quick, would like 3 more doe to add to the freezer.

Nothing for us yesterday evening. Grace missed a Doe at tge end of the day.. Back in VT now. Be headed back to NJ next Thursday. 2 more 4 day stints to try and put a Buck on the board. Odd year Buck curse is still in tact.
I’m out it’s so foggy I can hardly see, gonna pull some cams then head home. I’ll be back out this evening in a new spot.
As of now I plan to make it out this weekend. Hopefully Saturday and Sunday. The wife was supposed to have off tomorrow but decided to work all day, since I was home all week with kids. One more day of daddy daycare, then hopefully stretch my legs in the deer woods. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Got in quiet set up and did a few doe in heat bleat. Hoping to draw something out of farm field. Then watched a car pull into hunting camp. Was hoping they'd push something into gully up to me. Thinking they pushed anything down the hill. Bucks use to hit gully and sneak on up to the other nieghbors santuary . Nothing but crow talking so far.
