I’m having a bad year, haven’t seen any deer, haven’t shot as many deer. BAM, Chief shoots number 25 on the year.

You thinking that's 2 bucks? 2nd two look to be the same buck for sure, albeit two weeks apart, that first one looks like he has darker antlers, just can't make much out aside from good spread.

Might be 3 different ones. The last buck at night looks like a 9. That second looks like a 10. Im giving them both credit for brow tines cause i cant make them out for sure but the one buck at night only has 4 on the right side

Damn you're right, that right side on pics two and 3 definitely different. I just quick glanced 3rd pic using G4 on left beam as determining the same buck.

I believe they are 2 different bucks. Definitely same buck in last 2 pic’s.

This area has hardly been open this year and its 100 miles from home...I'm hoping it's open Tuesday when I'm in that area for work. Might get an afternoon hunt.

    Many more bucks on cam
    ....here are a few

Sorry to disappear for so long. The doe is cut up and in a cooler.

That was the most exciting sit I've had all year. As soon as I got set up I saw deer out in the field about 150 yards away. I was watching deer the entire time. I could have killed a doe way earlier, but something in the woods was chasing the does out into the field. They would walk back in and then come running out a little closer each time.

Eventually I had shots at multiple does when they got to 30 yards, but I figured there was a buck in the woods. Eventually he showed himself. He was only a 5 point. With the season I've had I actually considered shooting him when he got to 20 yards just to put 50 points on the board, but nah, it's too early for that, so I decided to take the next doe I got a shot at. As it turns out, the next doe that gave me a shot looked like a big fawn. I wasn't going to take that shot so I waited.

Finally I saw this doe coming through the woods. She got to 40 yards and I drilled her. Lucky for me she ran a curve and piled up 20 yards from my tree, only 10 yards from the field edge and about 15 yards from my eBike.

I had ridden my eBike 2.6 miles to the stand and towed my gear on the cart planning to cart the deer out on it, but when I saw the size of her I thought it would just be easier to ride back, get the truck and get her out. It was.

She ended up field dressing 106 pounds. Not as big as I thought but still a big doe.

That first pic looks like a dandy.

Second one reminds me of a buck I seen in probably 2008. Was sitting in an old ground blind that had been pummeled by an ice storm the year before. Stuck a 5 foot limb in the center to stand it somewhat up. Rattled with a rattle bag having no clue what I was doing. Couple minutes later I look out and he comes walking down the other side of creek at 25 yds. Never even thought of shooting a mature buck with a bow at that point. He was a wide and shorter tined 6, hindsight I should have attempted to draw inside the blind, he was probably 17yds broadside but walking.

He came down into the creek and disappeared behind a big oak. Snuck out thinking he was heading behind me. Was drawn and stepped out to wait for him and he never stepped out. Stepped a few steps to the left and he was back on the opposite bank walking away at 35.

I think it was that buck and joining this site in its infancy(after huntingnet) that got me wanting to shoot a mature buck, but had fun for a few years after shooting a few smaller ones until 2011 changed my goals altogether.

I’m on my phone. I wasn’t sure if it was 3 or 4 on the right beam of the daylight pic. Yes, I’m going with them having G1’s too. Wasn’t sure if that is part of the beam or a weed. Either way it’s a real good buck.

Yes, it swivels. I just pull a pin and swing it around. Of course, as you can see you have to do a little lifting along with the swiveling.

Today was only the second time I've used it and it was actually the first time it's really been put to the test because the first time I used it was on a small deer.

I skinned and quartered that doe without the support leg being down, so I'm thinking I should just remove the support leg and I could actually drive into the field with the hoist in the hitch, use the hoist to gut it and then swing it into the truck and drive away.

I have to say that if I kill a buck the size of the one I killed in 2019 that hitch hoist wouldn't be nearly tall enough. Still, it's pretty freaking awesome.
