I have one that turns on if the wind blows. Kidding but not really. Have had to "turn it off" bout 8 times in the past month.
That’s mikes daughter I believe! Congrats LC, I hope you find the arrow to get some clue as to what happened!
Yes that looks like the pic Mike posted about his daughter last year. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Congrats LC. I figured you had to be getting a pretty itchy finger to start stocking the freezers. Best of luck on that second one. From the details I'm rooting for you to find the arrow and see it was a clean miss so you can just get straight back to entertaining us...I mean filling your freezers.
Just found the arrow 70 yards from where I shot her. It smells fine. No gut smell and no grit. Now I have no idea where I got her. The Nockturnal WAS lit after all. We’re not finding any blood though.
It was a miracle we found the arrow. My wife didn’t find any blood but we are tracking through this: We have the arrow location marked and we’re going back to get Elly May, our beagle. She’s not really very good but she has found deer for me before.
That is alot of blood. Kind of looks like muscle blood. Did you find anything were she stood for awhile? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I haven’t found where she stood yet. I know I didn’t hit lungs or liver. Since there’s no gut on the arrow there will probably be one of two outcomes: Either she’s alive or I clipped an artery and she bled out. Judging from what we’ve seen so far I’m thinking she’s alive, but we’ve actually not found her trail yet. I’m hoping Elly May will find her actual trail and the sign will be better. There is a small pond a few hundred yards downhill. If all else fails well search that area.
Trust your gut if you feel it's a dead deer. Good call on using the beagle, deer smell like large rabbits to them. I use to be able to tell when a beagle got on a deer track over a rabbit, they would get a little extra excitement in there howl! Good luck Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
That beagle took me through a saw briar patch, through a gulley, through more briars and straight to her.
