Maybe you don't get the shot tonight but you will be closer to his loitering spot or his bed.

Hope you can make it happen

It was 78 here yesterday. Those are July temps where I grew up. It can still happen, probably just close to dark.

Hi guys , been following along most of the year , just haven't posted. Congrats to all who have taken deer this year. It is 73 degrees here in West TN. I am sitting in a stand with light weight scent lock on and sweating . Deer movement here matches pretty much what most of you guys are reporting little to no chasing going on .

I’m up at my uncles again, this time there’s no chainsaw running. Good luck everyone!

I’m up on a different property. It took me a while to find a good tree and then I had about 15 small limbs to cut but I’m about 20 feet up and ready.

Don’t know why but this made me laugh. Found it hiking up into where I want to sit for my evening elk hunt. “Monster” rub right there.

Set up on a ridge that was logged a few years ago. Thick timber that could hold some bedded elk on each side of me. A bit ago I got a really strong elk smell for a bit, wind was coming out of the timber on my right. Hoping to see some feed through before dark.

Had 1 blow at me from across a small pond . The wind was blowing that direction so no surprise. Nothing else seen or heard .

Saw a couple 1.5 year olds harrassing does.

And a big ass body at 135 that I "know" was a mature buck. He was scent checking the oak flat I was sitting on. 3rd time he's done it in the last week.

Can't move any closer or I will get busted by the does.

Wind direction changes tomorrow. If he wants to scent check, he will have to come out of cover.

Same for me. It’s just too warm and they’re not moving until dark I guess.

I’ll try the same spot in the morning.

    Very slow here.
Had 2 small bucks come by shortly after climbing in and then just a couple does right at dark. Did see a nice buck right across the river.
Lady friend shot a doe from the deck but it ran 100 yards and crossed the river on the only stretch of solid ice.
Gotta get permission and go try n get before the coyotes get it.

Going to test your mid day movement tomorrow.

Going to pack sandwiches and sit from 9 ish till dark.

My back is going to hate me but hopefully the trigger finger gets its itch scratched

No luck with elk. Saw a couple doe and a small buck.
BIL and I will go back Sunday and try one more time. Tomorrow is supposed to pour rain all day. Hoping for good movement Sunday morning when the weather breaks.
