    Dad and I are out with rifles. I doubt I’ll shoot anything. Unless it’s a nosey doe, or good buck. It’s his first hunt of the year. He only gets out abt 2-3 times a year

    Fairly quiet so far. This place has always been better later in the morning. No deer yet, but a couple squirrels. About 150 yards away I can hear someone rattling antlers. But he's completely down wind and I'm in the bedding, so should be good.

    I called an audible at the line sitting in a part of the pressured bigger parcel... An odd tongue of pines that runs down a ridge toward a stream.

    Left a scent trail through the creek bottom.

    Had a buck (assumed) cruise down the creek and loop around me very close (could hear his steps in pine straw) 30 min before legal. Drat!

    I think he left a scrape or hopefully bedded just at edge of my hearing range... Hoping.

    Lots of shots this am, so they must be moving.

    Had one walk by right at daylight couldn’t tell what it was but my mind says it was the biggest buck of my life

    Well it's been kinda rough morning for me. Had a near panic attack because I thought I left my front door open. So I got down headed home to find my front door closed and locked thankfully. Now I'm back on stand. I don't think I'm going to see a thing now.

    With family 300 miles away. (ND).
    Will be back in a tree hopefully tomorrow evening.
    Seen 2 bucks yesterday on the drive. Both were great bucks!
