Well At 8:30 I had a shooter buck come in from up hill and skirted me at 73 yrds. I tried a grunt then a doe bleat but he was on a bee line into lower part of swamp. Later I heard noises behind me but couldn't see anything. My walk out showed me big single tracks 40 yrds up. There were no doe... I'venever sat this stand I didn't have doe or at least fawn under me. The walk out showed rubs on trail in. I only hunt this area 2x' s a year.
All tracks I saw on the way in were fox and yote. A few turkey tracks on way out. I had to get down and come in. The pinky a dog bit the end off started getting frost bite. I tried everything to warm it but it got painful and turned a strange yellow. Weather usually effects it but I think the wind chill was a bit much. I got home and hubby announces the 2 huge mature doe and a fawn walked past the kitchen down the drive and into my front garden at 8.
That may have put a pin in it for me especially after last night's hunt.
I got home late from errands pouring out. Get every thing unpacked and rain stopped Put onoveralls and hiking shoes on and ran for the stand above where I saw the deer at dusk the day before. It was 4:30 by then. I rarely EVER hunt that stand because EVERY SINGLE TIME I get winded. It over looks the neighbors sanctuary. There is NEVER a Good wind because for some reason that area Always Swirls, always. The winds were blowing right to their bedding. My hope was they'd move like the night before and be in front of me in my woods. Nope, I hate being right...All the mature doe have been mostly hold up in their sanctuary 100 acres. 5 adult does and 3 fawn stood up just as I hit the deck. They walked up away from the beds 100 yrds up. Right into my scent stream. It took them 20 mins. of fussing, looking ,listening and noses straight up. Then they let loose snort snort snort.........Mind you did I mention on the way in I trot past the goat barn and standing between that and the green house, 15 yrds, 2 fawn feeding. ....they didn't bother snorting ...lol

Damn! Way to go dmax and Shock , great bucks. I’m ready to start cracking cans!! Cells cams are frustrating AF, had my target deer at the scrape in Ohio 15 yds from my tree, wind was perfect buttttt my wife worked last night. Have to wait till Monday to go out, poor me poor me. Keep killing guys and gals, I’m going out tonight in Pa for a Doe or two if given the chance!

Back on stand. Hunting this bedding area again. Wind is not in my favor but I'm not sure it ever is. Nice buck got killed last night where I saw the nice 10 a couple weeks ago. I'm glad my uncle told me someone got a nice one there or I'd probably be setting there waiting for a ghost. I'll be out with the rifle tomorrow so if anything comes by tonight I'm letting an arrow fly even my pet 6pt. Good luck. 1637344241592.jpeg

Old, you may wanna try some scent control?
I've had at least 100 deer downwind of me this year and have only been snorted at 2 times and both times I think it was because I did not have a clean hat on.
