She was quartering away hard, went in behind the ribs and out about 2/3 way up the rib cage. Liver and both lungs. Made it 70 yds[IMG][IMG]

    That really sucks.
All States should have the law Idaho has. Basically, if you have to track a deer onto someone else’s property you have to ask permission. If land owner says no, then you call F&G. They come out, accompany you onto the other property to retrieve your animal. Then they go write the land owner that said no a wanton waste citation.

    How much you making?

I was going to do 25lbs, but just looked through the cabinet for some smaller 1lb packets and seen I have another pack for 15lbs.

Looks like I will be doing 25lbs of ground and 15lbs whole muscle at some point.

Might even cure it then vac pack 1/2 of it and freeze, then thaw and dehydrate at a later time. Never tried that though, nit sure if the saltiness of it will prevent it from freezing or not.

Pup did pretty well. I was on the ground so entry and exit were even w each other so she didn't bleed much. Got about 20 yds from her and he put his nose in the air and went right to her. Not bad for 4 1/2 mos. old.
According to my HME scale she is 120lbs field dressed. Definitely healthy lol

Probably do about 10 lbs right now. Going to take a loin and make some spicy jerky. And the rest will be whole meat. Usually it’s ate up in no time from everyone else.
