That's what I'm talking about! Nice shot.

One doe sighting for me. Headed to a buddies tonight for Euchre and ping pong. Probably out to late tonight to hunt tomorrow morning. Supposed to be raining anyways..

Going through things for next weekend. 40 yds or less will use the bow, 45-100yds will be a bit louder. 100yds is very unlikely, 65-70 is about tops anywhere on the property.

You should wake her up. That's a strange way for a deer to bed down for a nap

    Good job CanTex.
What caliber cls? That just looks sexy:cool:

Well, this sit was fun untill.. it wasn't.
I seen a big bodied deer. He was only 15 yards away but in thick cover but slowly getting closer. I grabbed my bow and when he got to about 10 yards I realizes it was the same 5x5 I passed up the morning of October 30.
Something just looked odd. I decided again not to shoot him as he's a great looking 3 year old.
When he turned his head I about got sick!!,
It appears someone tried a heads shot on him.
His ear butt to the tip of his nose was gone including his eye.
Eff, I could see his teeth. The whole side of his face was gone!
He was skinny and looked very sickly. I then decided I'd do a mercy killing but I needed him to turn broadside.
He just stood there untill it was to dark to shoot.
I feel horrible for him now and should have put an arrow right in the front pocket.
He was one I really wanted to see next year (140ish)Buck now.
Dammit.., I know chit happens but sure was a horrible encounter.
    Really bummed out now.

Only saw the two little bucks. May go back in the morning. It’s a big wind funnel and with the high winds, it’s the most consistent place. The wind was S and W and some SW, the ravine runs SW to NE so it catches all the wind. I’m still down wind of the bedding and never hunted it bc I was worried about swirling wind being that low. It seems to be pretty good though. It’s picking up here and the little bucks are on the move. Cell camera was going off as well while I was back there

Well that sucks, I have no doubt in my mind that I would have shot him.
