Well unlike my 11 yr old original card board blind design with the tarp wrap the card board with house paint made it 6 yrs. Not bad considering the cost. Plus top above windows is still good and the card board roof is as well. Bottom is in Rough shape between wet and rodents. Red wood gets installed this spring on bottom.
Deer have mowed the WR/ red clover/ brassica plot as well as most sorghum seed heads. Looks like the nieghbors backhoe is staying put this winter. It shouldn't bother me but does a bit what nonsense..lol
Heard sparing in other nieghbors pines across road and I see the hunter next door is here. That explains no deer in clover last night.

Is there one of those deer crossing signs near there? I heard that's where you should hunt. Just Kidding! Good luck Adam!

Veteran day. Thanks all for making the U.S.A the best place in the world.

And let's hear the "29 chimes of the Edmunds Fitzgerald.
Can someone post that song please?

I am up. Just got shooting light. Here we go! I am hoping the rain and wet conditions really help keep the scent down. All the water dripping off the trees makes it hard to hear. In a river bottom transition just off bedding.

I have to say anyone wanting to hunt deer in NY hit route 21 from Wayland to Hornell. Someone's corn truck sprung a leak.....the entire length of road. Kinda like yellow cobble stone for miles and miles and miles. I just kept thinking...this is a auto insurance nightmare!

Where's Little Chief??? I need to yell at him!
BIG 8 pops out of swamp on the other side of backhoe...walks down the fence to opening. Walks in on my land looks down laneway and ignores the fawn that's now, here at blind. Then walks past 3 stands and my wooden blind up through my woods. No grunting did not work.

First deer spotted through the trees at 50. Didn’t get a good look at the head but the nose was to the ground.

It's way too early in the season to think you're jinxed.

    It'll happen.
