Sounds like the second noise was him trying to keep his soul in his body and failed!!! Hope you find him there dead Brett!!!
Decided to go in after light. Needed to fix a stand so still hunted in...No movement.. stand easy quiet fix...a chain wrap and c linked. Still hunted out and kicked up a resident spike . The only deer on garden cam everyday. He is living down side of garden on the ridge. Tons of tracks all over no deer. Showering and going to run errands and get gas for my trip to camp. Already have hubby in a tither over leaving at 3a.m. bit over an hour drive ...park at road behind camp. Then walk down to stand, down hill from the camp driveway entrance. Stand is in a grove of wild Apple's that hold on well into winter. They were loaded last time I was there. Stand I shot broken rack buck out of last year. Let's hope for a non broken rack or doe and definately not a several hour half mile drag up hill. Won't hunt here tonight due to rain coming in at dark and warm temps....reminds me pack a bag of ice packs in the morning
Yes VS! Sounds like maybe you smacked the scapula, hope you got through. That last movement may very well have been him thrashing on the ground. I've been tricked several times by that last noise thinking it is them running away and it is instead them going down and thrashing. Will be constantly hitting refresh, can't wait to see the blood trail. Best of luck on the track.
Back 8 inches of the arrow is broke off. Found the front . 0 blood but does smell of deer. I may hit a limb. Continuing on looking but not looking good.
Found back half. No blood. I should have let him continue to move move and look for a better shot but I didn't think I had 1. Cost me good.
My teammate Creepy Crawley shot this bruiser this morning Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I took my 1st good shot instead of my best shot if that makes sense. Cost me. Thanks for the well wishes but I pulled off a rookie move today
I feel that VS, it sucks. Same thing happened with the buck I hit last week. Instead of waiting for the best possible shot, I took the first shot that appeared to be clear, and ended up not being clear.
