    I just walked a track of wood. I log for a living. That has the most deer sign I have ever seen and no signs of hunters going to try and find out if I can hunt while we thin it I’ve never seen anything like this place it’s crazy

    Just had a young 8 pt at about 6 yards, on the ground. I wanted to shoot but never had a shot.
    Took a drink in the pond and walked off

    I look to my right which is directly downwind and see a good wide 8 pter or so not 20 yds from me. He is cautious and knows I'm there so he starts skirting for thicker cover. I know I have about 5 yds of real estate before he is gone. Mind you this is over like 10 seconds so I'm moving quick. I draw as he steps out and he stops. I have a decent look at his vitals at like maybe 17 yds. I corner pocket my pin and release. I hear a loud smack and he spins hard and I thought I saw my green nock hanging out as he ran. He runs maybe 60 yds downhill then quiet. 20 seconds later I hear some quick movement like he is trying to bound off. Then nothing. Mind you it is quiet in here on the ground.

    I may have hit a great shot or whiff hit a tree. Gonna wait til 1030 then check.
