    Way to go Mc..daddy!

There are no guarantees. Last year the only shot I took during bow season was on a doe and I whiffed. Thankful for the opportunities I've had this year. Every bow kill is an amazing experience to be cherished.

20 mph wind?.. hunt, hunt, and hunt. Sometimes I feel like the wind scatters the doe scent and bucks are feverishly trying to locate them.

    It's November 5th - hunt!!!

Good luck. Take an extra breath before releasing the KRAKEN!

Still in dire need of blood pics today

I’ve been setup in my tree stand for about an hour. Nothing moving yet.

All setup about 75 yards from a small doe bedding area. Trails cross all in front of me. Either a doe may slip up or catch a buck cruising down wind of the bedding area. Good luck everyone!

Gear is all cleaned, repacked, and I will do my best interpretation of a Mt Everest sherpa tomorrow morning. 26 degrees going deep in shorts and a short-sleeved T-shirt. Alarm set 0300. These are the moments we wait all year for y'all!!!

    Good luck PM SHIFT!!!!

Thinking NC may have another couple weeks till rut kicks in...

I'll have a great NNE wind and cool temps and am debating where to sit tomorrow
Public options (light ML competition, Ag 1-5 miles depending on spot):
*Knoll (had a fresh scrape and tracks last week, between my entry and exit). Think it's a younger buck. Pine /hardwood edge.
*River bottom... Sat there once this year, no sign, but has been opportunistic historically. Generally hardwood.
*Pond... Rained yesterday, heard a single ML shot in that direction last week. Pine / hardwood mix
*2 mile creek-A hit and miss saddle bounded by the stream feeding the lake and private. Pine.
*Doe alley-never have seen a buck here, but have found rubs / scrapes nearby. See does ~50%

    Private:
'The neighborhood' My land, small parcel surrounded by 30-40 adjacent acres undeveloped, Ag 1/4 away.

BB is bedded 29 yds behind me. Got a chilly 10-12 mph wind and temps dropping fast.[IMG]

    Sat down at 350
Saw a single deer moving nw of me in bedding area, sw wind at 420. Couldn't identify deer. Probably a 30 pointer.

This deer was shot 400 yards from here while I was sitting in this stand 2 Sundays ago. IMG_3483.jpg

    I’m back on stand.
It was a busy morning. Two deer killed, dragged, skinned, quartered and on ice.

We drank a couple celebratory beers, ate a sandwich then I showered and headed back out.

    Come on bucks.

Very slow here in West Central NJ for the rut. In two sits I've seen 3 confirmed Doe, 2 small Buck and 1 unknown deer. Just the 1 Buck pushing Does around. Hopefully things change.

Back in the same blind where I had the encounter with my #1 hit lister 2 evenings ago. Thought for sure I spooked him for good trying to get drawn on him but he was back here last night! Conditions aren’t fantastic, a little warmer today at 61 degrees but the temps are only going up the next 4-5 days so here we go! Good luck out there fellas!
