I hope it’s story you can laugh about once the swelling goes down. Pretty funny from the outside looking in. Not making fun, just a comical mental image.

I got up at 4:00 this morning and it was raining. I checked the hourly forecast and the radar and it was going to continue so I went back to sleep.

    I’ll try again this evening.

The rain stopped and I figured I had a choice of sitting in a hotel room or sitting in a stand, so here I am back in the same tree and all set up.

It’s overcast, damp, 74 degrees and I’ve got a nice 10 mph wind blowing out of the north which is perfect. Feels really nice out.

It’s going to be a long 8 hour sit. If a doe shows up early enough to get her out before sunset I’ll one fly.

That little light I posted is really nice. Small, rechargeable and lasts a good while.

5 1/2 hours down. That’s a lot of sitting to only see 5 cicadas, a handful of hummingbirds and a ton of buzzards.

I have no idea why so many buzzards are circling this area.

    Three hours to go.

Back in the tree. Slept in with the rain. Went to the truck to find several warnings and no power steering

Hey I'm on Kentucky too! It's currently 70 degrees and the hotel bar opens in 10 minutes. Haven't seen any deer tho.

Good luck all you fortunate souls on the perch, waiting for a shot.

After three hours of scouting, I am in a tree for the urban hunt. Sitting in a creek bottom with heavily used trails. NNW, creek and thicker bush on other side hoping they cross at one of the two crossings with 40 yards of me.

Baiting is allowed in the urban hunt, but I am not doing it. Found a trail camera with fresh corn thrown out. I set up about 75 yards away hoping to catch the deer before they get to it. No stand on the corn, which is weird. Just the camera.

Well, I just had another hunter walk in on me. Guy that owns the stand and camera down the trail for me. Nice guy, completely missed his stand earlier or I would have moved a little further. Hopefully, these urban deer tolerate human scent better than other deer.
