Ok, all caught up. Hate not having signal anymore, even when I can get it it's hit or miss for how long.

Aw come on! I just shot a doe and centerpunched the gut. When I drew she bounded forward about 20 yards and I twisted to follow screwing my form all up.

It’s 50 degrees on the way down to freezing tonight.

    I’m better than that.

    Crap.

Hey man don't beat your self up. It happens to everyone at some point. Just don't take 17 days to find her! Haha. Best bet is leave he be and go get her in the morning.

Ok, so I sat the "Buddy Stand" which is a big oak in the bowl of about 4 or 5 ridges. Didn't get a pic of the potential shooter there as I just caught him as he was already passing behimd me. Had I seen him on the other side I could have probably stopped him as a grunt did but his head was behind cover and still couldn't see his rack. He had some long G2 or G3's, betting in the 12-13" range but that's all I could really see of him. Grunted and grunted but he would not turn back. 8 minutes later I caught movement on the trail coming in and seen a brief flash of antler. Knew it was young so didn't even consider bow.

Kinda like the Ghillie suit though

So I climbed down after hearing the does blowing nonstop and still hunted my way back to the other stand. Thought I seen him still in it so stepped to the woods edge and goped a cruiser would cross the small fieldlike area. After clock hit 10:35 I snuck behind a tree and used my phone to zoom in on the stand. Empty. Later confirmed he got busted climbing down.

Anyhow, slow going until 12:15 when scanning the area seen a spike or forkie trot into view 70yds away. Grunted for the hell of it and he spooked, probably got puched off by a bigger buck.

Slowed back down, then as I am scanning around again at 1:15 I see a lone antlerless coming from my back left. Start looking for the nubs of a button buck and there aren't any. First doe coming into range, look back behind her and catch movement. Antlers, and way bigger than a spik or any I have seen yet.

He's lagging behind her about 18yds and working a scrape.

Like a gut shot deer. Bounced out a ways, stood all hunched up and then kind of ambled off hunched up.
