I have buddys that will leave all gear in tree including bow and camera stuff. Maybe I’m just paranoid, but I don’t think I’d be able to do that. Sure would be nice to show up ready to slay tho.

Likely because pooling is due to standing in place or possibly bedding. I tend to agree in my dealings with it, usually have a lot more blood early on though, especially with shoulder shots where blood pours initially then clots up pretty quick. Almost like they stand in place so hide covers up the muscle damage allowing it to clot faster. Kinda like us applying a bandage and pressure to stop bleeding.

I guess it depends on where you're hunting. If there is a lot of foot traffic in a spot I wouldn't do it, nor would I leave my gear overnight if I were in a place where there was a lot of raccoon hunting. Also, If someone knows where I'm hunting then of course I wouldn't leave it.

In a place like I'm in now you'd have a better chance of winning the lottery than you would finding my stand in the dark.

It is nice just walking in empty handed in the dark, climbing up easily and having everything ready to go.

Back at the house for the night. Ended up going about 400 yards ending at a neighboring property. Pretty consistent blood, no deer jumped, no beds found. This is where we ended for the night.

I am not discouraging you from looking further, but that looks like muscle blood to me. As close as he was at that angle you described, I wonder if you didn't just zip if down his ribcage and laid him open but didn't puncture the cavity. Your second post there about blood on the arrow further leads me to believe this. I grazed under a doe on a ridge below me (sharp angle) a couple years back and had a couple of cut white hairs, blood on one vane and that was it.

Speaking of, did you find any hair? White or brown?

Hello low 30’s !! Woke up way to early I’m stoked. Going back to the same stand I sat yesterday morning hoping buck comes but and freshens all them scrapes.

If successful today be patient with me. Seems cell service gets crappier every year. 100 new wind turbines installed in a year, yet they cannot get AT&T to install another tower? Sometimes don't even get service in the city, been like that fir years.

    Ugh
