No COVID for me. Just a cold. Passed on WI anyway, my cough was worse today and it's green goop so didn't want to get my buddy sick.
Think I'm heading up to MI tomorrow.

Not going deep tomorrow for previously mentioned reasons/prior commitments. Looks like I get to sleep in an extra half hour. 1930, I'm going to bed!

I'm torn for tomorrow. I love the blind spot, have given up on a big buck making scrape, but think one will travel through there.

My gut tells me to sit the stand, I have no clue what it was like before I got there and had all the action. They are starting to cruise and that is where to be when they do.

Thinking I'll sit the stand and then if successful, focus on the blind for 2nd buck tag.

Either way, I'm wearing the gilley suit, need to find my backpack for gear as it has no pockets

Crap. I have a buck bedded 70 yards away. I’ve tried the laser pointer but he isn’t budging.

Okay. So I looked everything over better in the stand. And there was a small amount of blood on the arrow. After dark I got down and ended up finding blood 20 yards from impact. This is first blood.

    This is best blood.

I only tracked 40 yards, I wanted to get some second opinions. It’s been just over two hours now.

    what are everyone’s thoughts?

Nothing for me. Rain never stopped until after dark. As I was leaving in the truck, the doe I was after was standing right there on the side of the road. Rain had them moving late. Until next time

He was 13 yards away, if anything slight quartering too but pretty much broadside. My feet are at 17 feet and I’m right at 6’ tall. Felt like a good shot, and felt like it broke clean right where I wanted. Sliding sight set to 22 yards.

at the shot he jumped like he was hit then ran 20 yards and stood there. That’s where I found first blood. I couldn’t see anything on him through the brush.

then he followed a doe for 30 yards or so, she continued into the corn field and he took a pretty hard 90 into the thick stuff.

That's a tough one. Were do you think it hit? Did it seem low or high? How did the buck react after the shot?

More on the shot would be helpful. Is that bubbles in the second pic? 1st pic looks watery in parts of it.

What did blood look like when you stopped?

Went from a miss to this, not a lot to go on

Yes I did. It had fallen out of my pocket before I’d gone 50 yards out his morning.

Thankfully no one drove down the road. They would have run it over.

I don't know, your eyes don't lie to you most times. If it looked good and you felt good, how high was entry? May need to fill up a bit to get that good bubbly blood and nose spray. Maybe you are seeing exit blood. Rutting bucks are adrenaline filled and sex crazed, they can do not so normal stuff after shot.

Could you tell from his trail which side the blood would have been on?

I’m down. I packed up and made it all the way to the ground without spooking him.

As soon as I stepped on the ground though I heard him bolt.

I don’t think he was a big boy but he wasn’t a bad buck.
