    Season's been open over a week or so...NO DEER YET!! Who's gonna light the nock first? Wedes been on a stalk or 2 , Finny and Chief in the Blue grass state..Bill will be climbing into the mountains in less then 24hrs. Money on Chief to get the thread going..

    First post of the season… Not a good one!

    My friend and I were doing some stand work this morning and I got into some ground hornets pretty bad. Found out I wasn’t allergic about 10 stings and only my briefs on in the woods. It sucked. I’m home and okay. Got a beer and college football on it’s safe here. Haha

    Thanks shadow - at 35 years old my first call is still to my dad. Haha He came and got me only lives about 5 mins from the property - I didn’t even ask but he brought Benadryl!! Like a pro.

    I got to my spots, put my stands on trees and I’m back at the hotel.

    My spot where I had high hopes for a buck got hit by a tornado this spring. Both of my trees were gone.

    I found another but I’ll only be about 15 yards off the field edge and I’ll be pretty open. Good back cover, but I hate being that exposed. Then again, the deer here are fairly stupid.

    The farmer offered to let me hunt their “home place” again this year. He said he knows a good spot and I’m supposed to meet him there at about 3:30 to take a look. Awfully nice of him. They don’t hunt and they just want the “bean eaters” killed.

    Anyway, I should be on stand by 4:00 or 4:30.

    Also, I truly hate wading weeds shoulder high this time of year like I had to to hang one stand.

    I’m really hoping the permethrin did it’s job. I’m about to take a shower anyway.

    I’ll check back in when I’m set up.

    Well at least I got the State right. Beautiful afternoon here, mid 70's not humid, come on Chief get the thread going. A bunch of blow downs should make great bedding cover, don't be too picky, you are the un-official, official "Form Chief". Not too much pressure, just having fun..stuck on couch for another week...

    I'm out Bear hunting. 6-7 Bears in this area by the corn. Its a big area. Watching the woods hoping to catch one approaching the corn.

    I went and looked. The spot he wanted to show me is a spot I hunted last year. It’s nice to know I can go back there.

    I’m in the first stand I hung.
