    I measure out to a 31" draw length. When I got into hunting, it seemed like every standard bow had a 30" draw max. I ended up doing exactly what you mentioned - put a long string loop on and it worked out just fine. I think that method would work fine to make up an inch, but much more than that and shooting form will probably suffer.
