It's 40 here. Cold and wet. Does all entered the fields early. Like at 2:30 PM CST they were stacked. I would be shocked if we don't see a lot of buck movement this evening before dark.

Think I am going to hunt the impromptu blind tomorrow. No time like the present and will actually have a favorable wind overnight and into the morning, supposed to be SSW overnight and turning to NW during the day, if favorable means actually blowing the direction forecast anyway. Only unknown I have is when do deer travel it, what direction will they come from and will it work? One thing is for certain, it's a very low risk sit and who knows, maybe it will pay off. Will have predominantly South Friday through the weekends as it warms up a bit.

    Crude mapping of it

    Black arrow= Wind(presumably anyway)
    Blue Dot= Impromptu Blind
    Red Dot= Scrape
Yellow Lines= 4 Wheeler/walking paths that deer use all the time
Black Box= What trail looks like beneath canopy

Set up on an observation stand between multiple bedding areas. Not expecting to shoot anything from this spot but anything is possible. Seen one deer already. Good luck PM shift!

Come on baby light my fire!

Loving the cooler weather. Stout west wind, but not bad in the woods. I think I'm only shooting bucks the next couple of weeks. In the stand I heart shot doe last Tuesday. Saw a nice 10 100 yards from here. Hope he is cruising for a bruising. Leaves are starting to thin. Time to light a knock!

Fixed it, cut me some slack, first day back at work after a week at the beach in Florida, I think I left my brain behind.

Went into a spot I bumped something out of the other day. Never hunted this. I’m on one of about 5 finger ridges that go from the field edge to a long narrow holler with bedding on the other side. This finger ridge leads to the lowest spot in the cut bean field

just got busted by a nice 2.5 yo. Not a shooter but he saw me go for my bow. Didn’t blow. Gotta go. It’s on

    I’m set up.

I checked the radar and it looked like I had time to get set up before the actual rain hit.

I grabbed my tree umbrella and left. I got set up and had just got the umbrella up when it started. It’s a light rain and it looks like that’s all we’ll get.

It’s supposed to stop about 5:00-5:30.

I plan on it, but not sure if that means I have to break the monotony of what I have been doing and adjust to the new ways of the property or if I just go with the old reliable sit and wait something will show up eventually

I have little options as far as moving around goes. You would have to see the property from ground level to understand. Everything is so thick and always has been aside from all of my Uncles permanent stand locations, they've been there for decades but he knew how to keep the deer using the areas.

Aunt came home as I was packing up, she said the big one she has been seeing was up in the cut corn when she left this morning.

It's only a matter of time before they start cruising, didn't even see a spike this morning which I really thought was odd. I have no idea how hard the others hunted through October, kinda don't want to know, I have 13 straight days left, one of them is bound to be good.

Just got busted by an 8 or 10pt. I was sitting on the ground with my back to the drop off thinking the deer would be moving left to right in front of me. Nope buck walks up the steepest part. Probably would have stepped on me if he didn't make me. Blew and back down the hill. This season just keeps getting better. Someone kill something. BHOD.

It does look like a________, but I was thinking of something else that cums out of it. Hahaha

Ive setup on deer crossings at creeks and ditches only to see a big buck scale the steepest part or better yet jump the whole thing. They are unpredictable the majority of the time arent they?
