I'm not sure about that mark. I'm sitting here taking a break and really can't find on old wound on the outside. I'm almost certain this is the same buck I wounded last year low/brisket. Can't locate it so far.

That (if it is) an old broadhead wound) should have been a dead deer. Rear lungs/liver.
And that blue circle although it's dispised by most is one of my favorite on a straight (quertering too) shot:cool:

I'd agree, but could also be a single lung entry.

I was just curious about the shape/location of the scar/marking.

    Either way is all good.

   .
I seen that mark also. Granted (anything) can happen specially with an expanding head:evilgrin: but with a fixed head, that deer should have been dead.
And my remark about the "pocket shot", I should have said "from ground level ".
Tree stand would have been 3" higher.

Well fat bastard is skinned and hanging, while I enjoy a break and a beer. Honestly the best pert of the story is when he stared at me at 20 or less yards for an eternity. I thought he was gonna bolt. I lowered my head so he couldn't see my eyes and tried my best hole in the tree technique when the nerves hit me. I tried to think of how to calm down and all I could think of was breathe dummy and started to say the Lord's prayer over and over. Its literally the only thing I could think of!! After about 6 rounds of that I heard him move. Looked up and he had squared up broadside, slight quartering away, moving up the hill. So I drew, found my anchor, took a breath and settled my 20 pin right on the crease, hit the release. I watched the lit nock disappear right where I aimed. I couldn't see him after about 30 yards of running, but could hear him just stop at one point. I wanna say he went about 120 yards. Easy track. Neighbor was kind enough to help me load him in his sxs. I'm elated and it still doesn't seem real. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement. I'll probably be back in tomorrow eve for a doe, so yall haven't heard the last of me.
