Bow is finally ready. Now starts the arrow tuning process. Going back to old school. Letting the bow pick its arrow set up through tuning. Kill.

Talking about where we are on being ready for the season; I have 3 crossbows, only one of which is shootable right now. I have only one stand up and really that's about it. I'm hoping to have one of other bows back and shooting by the end of the week but I don't know for sure. When y'all get old enough or injured enough that you have to take up the crossbow, always, and I mean always, have a backup. It seems something is always going wrong with them.

Rumor has it John Rambo used similar... no peep nor anchor points, a bit of torque and let her rip. Success is all about the pin gap as well, 10, 30 and 350yds respectively.

While explosives are illegal, find you a legal sized step drill and have the same broadhead. 10-15yds and it should be quite lethal.

    Harbor freight got you...

I'm probably going to stick to around 550. Just have to see what shoots best. If I want to go higher for an elk set up in the future, I can with these. Pretty much maxed out the 300 spines around 500 grains and things got a little squirrely when going further. Really just wanted options.

Fwiw for my cow elk last year, I was around 435gr from my 60# elite synergy with magnus stingers. It wasn't a full pass through, but she apparently pulled it through...never found the arrow, but exited rear ham.

I have a 515gr setup this year flying well.

I found 300 spine maxed out for me at 550 grains but the 580 grains on a 250 spine fly better even with a slight speed loss.

That is why my zs are all at roughly 500 grain. Can't wait to see how the 250s work out.

Well, should find out here in the next couple days whether I was drawn for the lake hunt.

Coworker/old high school friend got an email saying he was not drawn. He put in a couple days before me. Kinda weird as it said you would only be notified if selected.

Put that bad boy on a 27" piece of 3/8-16 all thread and you have some serious KE. Good luck fletching it but where there is a will, there is a way.
