I no longer have that ins company. They were bought out by someone.

I've also never had another claim...bet I just jinxed myself with that comment.

Nope. Different buck. I named him Portland. It seems fitting. Even his right side leans left.

That is hilarious, my grandparents lived in Portland their whole lives so I am very familiar with the city. A beautiful city in a beautiful part of the country, completely ruined by leftist fools. That is a great name for that buck. How old do you think he is?

He looks pretty young, but being a bit familiar with the hill deer around here I’d guess he’s a 3 year old this year.

2 year olds just don’t look like this around here.

Showed himself every day for a long time… disappears for 2 weeks and he’s back.

Went and checked the new kill plot. The 4 days of rain really gave it the jump, only 9 days old and it’s rockin! Also got my last stand up and some lanes cut, I’m ready to go on the farm. Still some work to do at other spots but nothing major.

Just realized I’ll be live from the stand this weekend. Tennessee velvet hunt. Will take a lot for me to send one, I’m not big on the velvet hunt. Really only go to take inventory and enjoy some stand therapy. Once it hits 80-85 degrees I’m heading out.

Alright. 8 days... And one flooring project away from starting this year's adventure.

Tore out the linoleum and carpet, self leveling concrete, is leveling itself and setting. The plan is to paint trim this afternoon/evening, pick up under lament and flooring today. Paint walls tomorrow and lay about 600 sq feet this weekend. It has to be done before I hit the road, next Friday.

Hit the road? Yeah, so I and 3 buddies drew general elk tags for MT. I've not washed my gear or started packing yet either. One of the 3 buddies had a family medical situation that has us all concerned... If you're so inclined, a prayer would be welcomed.

Assuming things go as planned, Friday, I drive to Quincy IL. Saturday and likely into the wee hrs Sunday morning to MT, east of the continental divide. And meet up with buddies from Texas. Assuming no travel troubles and minimal pitstops... Well the drive is just gonna suck...

That's a long drive! I did the drive from MD to Colorado a few years ago and that was brutal after the 24 hour mark. You got this! The hardest part is laying that much flooring. Give yourself a few days because it's hard on the back and knees.

My bow has been in the shop for a month to get new strings and cables. Orders taking forever in the bow business. Now the shop said they found a cracked lower limb on my bow and ordered the limb under warranty. Thank goodness they found that as I've never had that happen.

Wife told me just to buy another bow in the meanwhile. So close to taking her up on the offer then remembered my truck payments. Ha

    What kind of flooring 704?
You will do best taking off all base boards before starting and replacing with new.

Just dropped my bow off yesterday to get the new strings and cables put on after waiting a month for them to come in. Turns out the Bear spec sheet was wrong by 1/2" so the string maker is making a new set and I should have the bow by mid-week.

@wl704 If you need a place to crash for a night, I have a bed in a back room, or a tent, your choice. I'm 12min off the exit ramp on TN I-24.

Are you going to velvet hunt this weekend? It’s going to be 92 over here in East Tennessee. Thinking about doing one morning and one evening sit. That will probably be it. Not big on the velvet hunt and would take a tank of a deer for me to shoot one in velvet.

Hellllllllll no. It's not worth my time to sit in this humidity and rush to process a deer. If I did go, it would be strictly to scout from a distance. I'll just wait until the weather turns. I have a farm in KY I can hunt as well, so if I really want a velvet buck, I can sneak up there when they open.

Yeah, that’s the biggest thing for me. You have short clock to get that thing processed. If I go it would be for inventory purposes only and when it’s somewhat cool. Would take a monster for me to let one fly.

Thanks for the offer. Baring problems though, I won't need to take you up on your generous offer. Planned stop for the night will be Quincy.

I'm thinking, on the road about 6am. It's like 13 hrs... So ETA 7-8pm...ish.
