Storm just blew in. Won’t be able to hunt tonight, but this rain should make for a good hunt in the morning. Gonna be cold and gloomy tomorrow. Should be able to slip in quietly with rain coming tonight

Quartering or boneless method start looking pretty good with a long drag...

Also the cantexian and pastorjim workout routines start looking like good ideas around the half mile mark.

I'm starting to dive deeper into my setup with regards to arrows. For those of you who know precisely your weights, what are you using to measure? Digital scale, specs from arrow manufacturer/broadhead manufacturer or something I haven't thought of yet?

Scale for me. I’ve used those arrow weight calculators online, and they’re pretty accurate too

A food scale in grams, and then convert grams to grains using the googleator.

edit: because it was handy and I haven’t bought a real scale yet

All setup. Over looking some thick mountain laurel, scrape line that hasn’t been hit yet today along a swamp. I’m about 80-100 yards away from where a buck that I bumped last week bed is. He’ be looking this way with the wind at his back, but can’t see me. Thinking of throwing a grunt or two out to see if he is interested.

always use a scale, some broadheads vary 10gr or more from listed weights.

What would you consider a 'real scale'?

30 left of work and then heading to the stand - grunted in a small buck a few days ago, and found some newish scrapes on Saturday. Good wind for it - we will see what happens.

Also I'll weigh my shafts and points / bhs separately... Sort them both high to low, then match heaviest shaft to lightest head.... Lightest shaft to heaviest head.

My FOC may vary slightly arrow to arrow, but arrow weights are pretty close.
