    Only 11 more days until the Kentucky opener.

    My brother doesn’t live there any longer and my daughter is using my travel trailer until they close on their new house in Tennessee, so if I go it looks like a motel room for me.

    I have all the gear I need to tent camp but an air conditioned room with a shower sounds really nice in early September this far south.

    Well, it didn’t take much thought to decide, especially with my wife encouraging me to go. :lol:

    It’s not what it sounds like. She’s been on the go all summer with Ozark Trail volunteer work, bicycling with her girls group and hiking so I’ve been patiently staying home feeding the dogs and being what she calls a “good little house b***h”.(Don’t forget, she’s a retired Navy Chief also). Now that my turn has come she wants me to go have fun.

    I booked a room in Mayfield, KY for the 4th through the 6th.

    Season opens on the 4th but my first sit will be that afternoon. Sunday and Monday are the peak of the new moon so I plan to hunt through Tuesday morning.

    I checked my four cameras here on my small property today.

    441 pics and almost every pic was of does and fawns.

    There were two small yearling buck pics and that wonky buck I now call Portland made another appearance.

    At least I know I have a ton of does to draw bucks in later in the season.

    My insurance said I filed a claim when all I did was inquire if something was covered. It wasn't and I paid out of pocket and had receipts to prove it.

    Same here this time of year. And you've seen what shows up here towards October. I would say don't sweat it but I know you aren't.

    What is strange to me is that Trump hasn’t shown up. He’s been a regular on my cameras since I moved here in 2018.

    Unless he got hit by a car or something like that I know he survived.
