Dang man! Not the grill!!! Stay safe and just remember that it can be fixed. Looks like you get to test out your new home owners insurance policy also.

Man, I'm sorry about that Joe.

Was it only the deck railing that was damaged?

This is just what I would do, but if it's only the deck railing and there's no structural damage to the deck itself or the rest of the house you might just want to repair it yourself and not have the claim on the homeowner's insurance. Like I said, that's just what I would do.

Sorry to hear about your deck Joe.

This past week I’ve shifted into pre season mode. Ordered some more broad heads and lighted nocks, put the final tune on my bow with broad heads, and partially put a ladder stand together. Next weekend I’m going to plant the winter wheat and oats and do a bunch of rain dances. Definitely not going to do the rain dance they did in Tennessee, my condolences.

I’m ready for October to be here so I can wish it was November.

Sorry Joe, follow LC’s advice if repairing it is less than the deductible. Not worth the hassle and increase in premium if insurance is involved for less than the deductible.

Thanks y’all! The railing broke the brunt of the weight and the deck is still structurally sound. I agree with LC and others and won’t put in a claim.

Help me age/rough score this deer just for fun.

I'm thinking 4.5 looking at his belly.

    Terrible at scoring, but he's a nice 10. [IMG][IMG]

I had worse damage than that from a storm. My ins company asked if I was willing to do the repairs myself and they would pay me $XX per hour plus materials.

I saw no increase in my premiums.

Kinda tough to tell from pics. My estimates are both slightly lower than Mr Head Hunter's.

Neck is thick like a 4yo, but I'm not seeing it in the torso or quarters. So I'd put him at 3-3.5.

    I'd estimate he's 125-130ish.

I think he's smaller than he looks, velvet really adds to the deception, I'd say mid 120's, 3 1/4 for age.

Also, you could cut all the hand rail off flush with the deck, then when peeing off of the back porch, you wouldn’t have to make the decision of going over the top rail or between the spindles. Pee free my friend.
