I'm not sure why I procrastinate. I just cut lanes and prepped a stand site that I stumbled on last year after missing that buck low. Silver lining. Also hung my cell cam down there since it is kind of deep. I won't go back in there till it's a good day to hunt and it has to be on a North wind. Most of my other spots are pretty much ready, but I did trim lanes on one of my rut stands. Damn it is hot. I have nothing good on camera here. I'll head out to my buddy's farm Saturday to prep a couple spots and hope year 2 out there is better. Got less than a month to the opener!

All these bruhs got me thinking of trying the saddle out. I've been going back and forth for a couple years and I'm actually loving the ground game that I just started doing last year.

Still 0 pictures of my number 1 in the spot I was getting the most pictures of him at. Might have relocated somewhere else. Checking/moving some cameras around tomorrow to see if I can find him.

He must know that my Tennessee Velvet hunt is next weekend and is taunting me. He’s not my number one or even two but I would take him if he walked by.

The nice thing about the saddle hunting, if you buy short sticks as a climbing method, it can all fit into a small day pack. If you get into an area that looks right, but doesn't have a good tree, you can always set up on the ground, and not worry about having to hide the bulk of a big hang on or climber.

What part of North Texas? My family used to hunt on a ranch outside of Nacona when I was in college.

TX, OK border about 40 or so miles south of Vernon.
So not the Far North part in the panhandle, but still North from where I am sitting HAHA.
This is only location I currently have locked down for this season. Its a piece of property my Brother-n-law hunts on and we go up there probably half dozen or so times a year.
