Was turned around looking into the swamp. Turn around and a beautiful coyote is standing there at 25yds. Picked me off. Would have loved to get him. They are howling like crazy now.

2 does and that coyote tonight.

I'm out. Didn't even see a squirrel. I'll be back at it in the morning.

Still following for the outcome. Doe I center punched the liver, same reaction after shot as yours without thrashing, was unable to get up 1 1/2 hours later. I was going back to POI and just happened to see her pick up her head about 15yds away from me and about 45 from shot. Wasted 3 good arrows trying to get a follow up shot but finally did with the third. likely would have taken 4 hours for her to succumb from the wound. Hopefully there's a recovery awaiting ahead in the thread.

I’m back home. Never found any more blood. It’s poured and poured for the last hour. Gonna wait til morning. Pond is 150 yards from last blood, I didn’t go that direction just in case she was gut shot, to avoid bumping. I’m just dumbfounded how blood disappeared. The shot felt good I really thought she died quickly. I guess not

I’m back at the cabin. I didn’t see a thing from stand.

I was driving back to the cabin and in the middle of nowhere I saw two puppies in the road. Some a-hole had obviously dumped them. The were just sitting there. I would guess them at about four months old.

There aren’t any houses around there.

I stopped but they wouldn’t let me close to them. One scampered into the brush on one side of the road and the other one did the same thing on the other side of the road. Every time I tried to call or move close to them they would go farther into the woods. They were obviously terrified.

I decided the best thing to do is to try again after the morning sit when light isn’t blinding them and they can see what I am.

At least whatever low life dumped them had the decency to dump them near a ditch so they had access to water.

Im about to take some dog food down to the area where they were and put it out. Maybe they’ll get it before raccoons do.

Well I was covered up in deer after dark. 3 separate bucks grunting within 50 yards of me, so I had to wait till dark dark. Still had to spook off 2. Came home to find out a hawk smoked one of our hens, so that sucks. I did see my first antlers buck of the season and would've been perfect for my set up if he wasn't a small basket 6. Big bodied buck tho and had him at 20 yards.

Man that sucks. Hopefully you can find her in the morning. Crazy how tough and slippery they can be.

Any chance of bringing in a tracking dog? They can usually still pick up scent after it rains.

I don’t know anybody here that has a tracking. Checked Facebook didn’t see anyone local. Hopefully in the morning I’ll find her. Last year was the first time I’ve shot a deer and not recovered it. Now it looks like it’s gonna happen again in back to back years. Just feel guilty

i have been there. Don’t get down o\n yourself. Its not over yet. It is entirely possible she is close to last blood and you walked right past her in the dark because you couldn’t see her. I still think you have a liver hit based upon the blood pictures. She will be dead somewhere close in the morning.

Saw a shooter tonight (at least for me) but he didn’t come my way. I was able to get a few pictures of him about 100 yards out. Not real good pictures because it was almost dark and because of the distance I had to crop the photo, but gives you an idea about him. He has split brow tines 763B0F84-306E-4F96-A257-68BBE55F6390.jpeg 9F622455-98E9-4E20-BD7C-20AC82A480E4.jpeg

I believe I speak for about everyone, that's a shooter for anyone. Good luck chasing him down!

Hang in there. Things will look a lot different in the daylight. Follow the direction of the blood on your phone and head that direction. I believe that she is dead somewhere close. Good luck.
