Deer activity should pick up some the farmer cut the corn field across the road. This usually sends more deer over my way. Most times!!! We shall see

All set up, had to revert to plan B, took a trail into the swamp as far as I could without my wind being terrible, didn’t find any buck sign besides some scrapes right at the field edge which I knew where there and are probably being hit at night, hung a cell cam in that general area just to get an idea of when/what is using that trail. Plan B was a preset by a pond about 300 yards north of where I was last night, this is where I found the biggest and most rubs scouting a week ago and cut the biggest track out in the corn field to my left. This also happens to be where I am getting most of the big buck pictures granted they are at night but hey it’s possible!!

Back in as well. Hung a new set in a funnel where I watched a ton of buck activity last year. Pretty much the only camera with regular day time pics of the big guys. Wind swirled around a bit and switched to a west wind which it pretty good for this spot. Good luck everyone!!!

Sometimes they just make it impossible ,good try though. I lost a doe one year to a similar situation. Had a neighbor I ran into offer to help. We got into the swamp and he turned back it was so bad.I ended up losing my tags, knife, and nearly one boot. Mud to waist. How she managed it pouring blood was unbelievable. I was so spent I had to a call hubby to drive down to nearest road and pick me up..
Get back at it and good luck, I hope he survived.

Just passed the 8 from last night who is now going to be named back up buck… 40 yards broadside was really tempting with a PA archery buck tag sitting in my pocket that I haven’t filled in my 16 years of hunting… he gets the pass tonight but tomorrow may be a different story

Still out of woods today...Though I did go change some batteries and checked cards. While I was cleaning, dear God where did all those basement cob webs come from!, I found a 1/4 bag of pasture seed. I took out with me and hand spread it around my woods out back. Between leaf fall and next 3 days of rain my get it going. The cams show only doe and fawn. One button buck. That's not good!
Looks like I need to hit old faithful stands again. I try not to over use them. That and the swamp stand.. Though that section I prefer the cross bow season. In all honesty I will do a shoulder shot with the cross bow. It drops them and I don't lose deer to down hill runs.
